I know this is short notice – I'd meant to get this up earlier, but have been terribly busy.
Anyway.
I have not been to this event before, but plan to head down this Saturday for their monthly Auto Cross at the Buckingham Airfield in Fort Myers.
You can get an idea of the area if you check out this aerial photo (http://gulfcoastautocrossers.com/aerial.pdf#INDEX) of the complex they use. The gates open at 7:30am and the registration starts at 8:00am. If it's your first time, make sure to get registered early, it seems that the 'novice class' starts at 9:00am. The cost is $20.00 and includes lunch. I'm not sure how long the event lasts. They do have some loaner helmets available. I know that this is on the same day as EuroWarz, so I'm sure most people in the area will probably be heading to that instead, but if drag racing isn't your thing, this seems like it will be a fun alternative. At this point I'm heading down alone, but if anyone wants to meet up at any point along the drive down from Sarasota, I'd be up for it. Also if anyone knows much more about this event, post it up.
