some advice?

hey guys,
im kinda new to this cite and i need some advice im thinking about getting a 330 i m sport but i dont want man but i also want to race with it at tracks. im wondering if it is neccesary to get a manual as opposed to an auto or if u think that maybe i should get something else id like to stay under 20 ,000 miles and one year old and under 30 k

yeah if youre thinking about tracking it you definately need the manual. I mean, if you can find one with SMG that would be good too, but I'd definately go with manual over auto

I believe the 330 only had SMG I? If that is the case, i have heard nothing but bad things about SMG I.

I dont know much about your options under 30k... however, if you're willing to dip into the mid-30's, you can find a used E46 M3 ;)

my cousin has a 330 with the good smg.... but apparently its very rare, either that or he had it installed aftermarket :/

ive never heard of an SMG in a 330i... the only thing that they can do that i know of is this one company who can take your stock steering wheel and make it with paddles so that you can switch into the Sport mode of the Steptronic transmission and use the paddle shifters

Yeah, 330s stay up there longer than the others but I am sure you can come across something :thumbu:

I'd say go with a 330i Steptronic. The autos in the car aren't bad at all...I previously had a 323i step and it was still fun to drive. Don't bother looking for a SMG 3-Series; they're rare and are nothing like the SMG in an M3. Good luck :thumbu:
