was driving and lost traction into a curb+signpost. Right lower control arm is trashed. trying to yank the one off the 325i here but it will not budge. used a pickelfork on the inner balljoint and ripped the boot.. the outer balljoint is the only thing left attached and it will not come off. is there any way to get them off with out destroying the balljoint boots?

the special bmw tool helps alot. I remember using a pickle fork, you have to wack the crap out of it

do you have an air compressor? a picklefork end on an air-hammer works like magic, most of the time...

Those are a good idea. But why did the company have to make them that ugly color.

Ouch

yea.. bigtime

i understand it is standard to replace both sides of suspension.. the koni's only have 2000 mi on them at the most. do i need to get 2 new fronts or just this side?

JCapelo

i would do just that side...

ouch thats hurts. I would only replace the one strut! at 2000 miles they are barely broken in.

i suppose welding the top mount and bending the bottom mount back wouldnt be a recommended procedure..
