Picked this up last month from a Rennlist.com member.

'86 951 (944 turbo) with a fantastic suspension setup, as well as a few performance upgrades as well.

I guess I'll spill it all out for you guys.
Bilstein Escort Cup full coilover kit (torsion bar delete!)
KLA solid strut top mounts
KLA adj. rear sway bar droplinks
Weltmeister strut bar
968 caster blocks
Lindsey Racing 3" turbo-back exhaust, no cat
Lindsey Racing dual port wastegate
Magnecore ignition wires
K&N Intake
SS braided fuel lines
HKS Turbo Timer
AIR front splitter (not yet installed!)
968 door handles

Overall I'm quite pleased with the car. I got an excellent deal on it, and I was told it would have a few mechanical problems, which I am in the process of fixing.

I have a few small aesthetic plans for the car that I'll keep the secret for now, but until then here are some of the pictures I have taken so far. Enjoy!

Found this crazy busted sprinkler, so I parked under where it was falling onto, and decreased my exposure time to about 6 seconds. Kind of interesting, kind of not, but whatever!

Need a black n/a 944 to fit right between the two....

and last but not least, here are just a couple recent pictures of my n/a project. (I use the term "n/a" loosely because it won't be n/a for too much longer!!!)

haha thanks, the hood scoop I actually just sold recently, but I bought a 924 turbo hood, which is just as rare and expensive, although the scoop goes down into the hood and is much smaller and cleaner looking than the bulgey scoop I had before. I just need to bondo a few dents and then paint it before it goes on, but trust me this one is a for sure winner!

So when exactly are you going to make the other one non-n/a? It seems like it was a really long time ago when you told me about the plans for it

So true.

I have everything I need to supercharge the car, but I've just been running into a lot of problems recently. Last week I blew up the differential and had to swap it. Now I have to fix this oil leak before I undergo the supercharger installation. :(

Glad to finally see some pictures of the car I've heard so much about

I cant wait to see what the red one is like after the supercharger. It should decimate all.

so how quick is it?

944attack
01-08-2009, 02:26 AM
i wouldnt call it quick, but its fast. (if that made any sense)

Im sure if i threw some narrower or dry rotted tires on it, they would break loose when the boost kicks in. But burning rubber will be limited for the other car.

On the highway it definitely pulls much harder than the n/a. The gear ratio's are much taller in the turbo cars, so starting from a dead stop feels kinda slow.

One dude I know has a C6 Zo6 and loves to drive it around town, its very quick obviously. But he says that his 951 will leave it in the dust on the highway, with some of the modifcations he's put into it. Maybe you'll get to meet him at our next meet! lol

By the way Steve, send me a PM, I have some questions for you about setting up our next 944 meet.

haha. see, some people like the phone dials

Actually, those arent that bad, they should be what, an inch bigger than the n/a ones?

ha yea, they are an inch taller and an inch wider :) 16x8

I've just never been fond of the style. I much prefer the Fuchs or the Cup II's or the turbo-twists of course.

What I didnt expect though, was my red Ronal wheels and my 15x8 Fuchs wheels to NOT fit on this car... they dont clear the brakes, so I'll have to find some longer studs and run spacers if I ever want to swap wheels.

Should I be on the lookout to see this car sliding along that dirt road at SCC this semester?

haha maybe

I think they changed the big dirt turn into something else though. Might have to go scope it out...

Wow. So this is the 951 "before" pic hunh? Car looks a lot different with the toxic green wheels and lip. Looks like it should be a club racer now. =) You plan on doing any more solo with it at MSCC?

Everytime I see a black 944 I look for the green wheels. But its never you, its always people with boring wheels (compared to yours atleast)

Haha thanks. Yea I have seen a few other black ones around town. Most are in very nice shape too.

And I'll probably do a few more autocross events for sure, but I need to focus on getting the red car done and done. That thing is long overdue!

Here's a few new pics, I like the phrase "toxic green" haha

Porsche factory color "Signal Green" is the actual color, same as on the new GT3RS and the older 911 Carrera RS versions.
