In general, replicas are mainly just heavier than originals. Sometimes, though, you do have replicas that are fairly weak, and will bend/crack on potholes and such. However, as techniques and equipment have evolved over the years, this is rarely the case. My wheels are replicas, and I'm very happy with them, even though they ARE a bit on the heavy side (21 lbs or so).

Lookin' good. My mom has the same engine is her SLK320 and I'd say it's ample! As far as replica rims go, it all depends on where you get them from. Definitely look around and read reviews on the wheels. I have replicas on my Bimmer and they're great!

very nice E320 man, glad to hear that you love it and i agree the wheel change would be a great idea... Replicas are common with Euros such as ours bc they are cheaper and most of the people that i know that have them are very satisfied

Cool. You guys that have them, where did you buy them? ebay isnt working out very well for me, i cant find much, and when i do it costs more than the actual wheels themselves to ship all four of them.

I got mine from Modbargains.com after hearing great reviews on the wheels. I checked out to see if they had any wheels for your car, but they didn't. I would be a little weary against Ebay though.

Should I get bigger wheels? Right now Im at 16in, not sure how wide, whatever is stock. Should I move up to 17 or 18? I dont think I wanna go ne bigger than that, if at all.
Variance

I'd say 17". I'm always wary of the smaller tire sidewall you have with 18" wheels. Plus, you'll have better acceleration with the 17s compared to the 18s.
Cobb_Web
05-08-2006, 04:00 PM
Yea, i was thinking 17 would be the safest bet. Would I have to make changes to my computer and all that if I got 17s, or is that only when your width increases?
Also, the look im going for is to make my car look like a whole new one, like someone said earlier in the thread. Would the basic 5 spoke AMG rims do that? Cus I was looking at some of the other rims, and a lot of them were pretty tight too. All your guys input is greatly appreciated.

You won't need to change your computer. What you need to do is make sure the profile of the new tire has the same ratio as the old ones. Do you have AIM, YIM, or MSN? I can explain it it you more.
