I have been noticed in high gears my clutch has been slipping and its starting to piss me off..everytime i step on the gas the revs just start racing up but the clutch isint cathcing it for a few seconds. so i want to replace the clutch before it gets any worse. Any suggestions on what brand to buy or advice would be cool.
:thanks:

Replace the clutch disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing, and flywheel (not totally necessary for F/W tho).

usually any OE type clutch is fine, unless youre after a performance clutch. my dad has a SACHS clutch in his e24 and it works perfectly fine, feels great too. You can always call a local german car shop and ask what brands they use too.

Sachs is what i would reccomend..

But thats really all I have delt with, and had no problems

yea im probably going to stay with oem seing as im not planning on doing any forced induction upgrades or anything crazy so the sachs one should work out fine. Me and my dad are going to do the clutch i understand the tranny is in a difficult spot to reach but my neihbor just put a lift in his garage so that shouldnt be much of a problem.

oem is your best bet get a kit=plate, disk, bearing and centering tool. make sure you get the flywheel resurfaced thats a must :thumbu:

if you're anywhere near south tampa we have an engine hoist you could probably borrow

although im sure you could get a 2x4 and put it on a jack to hold up the motor

How long do you figure the whole job took you?, because I'm having the same problem and how much did you spend for everything.

Please let me know, thanks.

all i know is if u have an e36 u basically have to diessemble the whole car to change the clutch..i had my freind at ferman bmw do it for me and it took them about 6-8 hours..but they also have all the best tools includoing a lift...i wouldnt reccommed taking it there tho because my buddy said it would have costed me around 2000 for labor...(thats including the flywheel they had to change)
