View Full Version : So I Decided to Take My Car Past 120

So I'm racing my friends CLS and I decide to take it past 120. I have never taken past 120 because really there's no point to me. Well I'm accelerating normally and all of the sudden my car hits 130 and hit's a brick wall, lol, it goes back to 125 then quickly back to 130, then back to 125. LOL! My car has a frickin governor on it, lol. So anyways, I talk to a tech I know today and he said he never knew that. So I'm going to be taking into the dealership and see what they can do about it. It's on video and it's so funny when the governor starts working, lol. I'm like WTF, THIS CAR HAS A GOVERNOR?, LOL. Anyways, any of you guys experienced this? My car was only at like 4800 rpms. Anyways, just figured I should make a topic out of it, I thought it was interesting. :lmao:

Hah.I dunno what the hell i have gotten the damn slovo up to speedo stops at 120mph D:.I had the stupid rx7 up to 140mph already LOL on bad tires that was a dumb idea.

You'll be happy to know that the GTR doesn't have one at 112 like the Japanese spec one.

Or one at 155.

Or 170.

Didn't find out if there was one after 172 though. My guess is no.

Mine kicks in at 134... Its like a pitbull straining against it's leash. Well... maybe more like a Pomeranian haha

i agree, but more like every night and 5 in the morn on my way to basketball practice hahah, day i got my r i top out at 135 and it wont speed up and my rpms are low, after some minor tweaking 135 is no longer a prob yet to top out tho not alot of time to go that fast i average 100+ every day tho...been pulled over a few times...haha

dont worry i dont do it when there are other cars around, at least alot, but i mean im not like crazy i have to do it, but if the road is open why not? grew up with a dad who raced cars, in the blood lol, but im not down to race when lots of cars are around, dont worry if i see cars i slow down, but if you see me hit me up with a headlight flash and ill know when i see your car to stay the speedlimit, lol:drool:

I have no governor... I have only gone like 140 indicated with the M52.

I have yet to test the limits of my new car. Although I know in my first c240 I went from 0-130 with no hesitation whatsoever. That was an '02 though. I never tried it with my '05 :dunno:
