I had a great time, and other than my two friends that were supposed to bring their cars, everything else was a success. I definitely plan on attending next year as well, though I might work with the operator of this event to change the location.

oh and Jack, is your windshield wiper stuck like that? I thought maybe you had it like that at the show, but then noticed it when we were racing, it was still up.

That windshield wiper is the "classic DTM look" I guess you could call it.

And that 300TD looks fantastic! That is seriously one of my favorite cars of all time....just might have to get my hands on one soon =]

yeah I know about "the look" my car has the single wiper as well and I love it, it's just I've never seen anyone drive around with it like that

19666falcon

its not as bad as you think :D

i'm confused, are you talking to me? Do you drive around with it up like that?

I wish they woulda done a lil something with the engine cover on the e55, its like a huge chunk of plastic...not bad, but not good either. nice classic cars there

no, that's just trying to draw attention, no offense, I love my wiper but no reason to position it in the center and then drive around with it like that.

what do you want me to say colincoon?

colincoon
10-01-2008, 11:26 PM
^Nothing. People just like the look, that's all. It's not to draw attention, it makes it look "better" to some. Lots of 190 drivers do it, I think it looks good. I would if I had the time/proper car to do it in.

^^Haha it is isn't it? Also it has some TINY side-view mirrors!

But I have a question, it still functions correct? Will it wipe the entire windshield? Like go one way then the other?

I've never seen it "in action" I guess, but I'd consider doing it if it functioned well...

you're asking if the single wiper cleans the entire windshield? I have a single wiper and yes it does clean the entire windshield, I mean of course it misses those corner areas just like all wipers, and the very center but besides that. Doesn't your 190 have a single wiper? If you have never seen a single wiper clean a windshield then you need to get to one and be prepared to be amazed at all of the different movements it makes in like 5 seconds.

I loved my one wiper and the crazy and and down motion it does

19666falcon
10-02-2008, 12:29 PM
oh I thought they all had the articulating movements, I love mine. My brother (who's an ME) brought his friend who's also in the same career path, and this is when he used to have the 300E, his friend was like, Holy crap, it's like an engineers dream wiper, lol.

colincoon
10-02-2008, 03:50 PM
No no no, I KNOW my wiper is a single "jogging" wiper, and it's effing awesome! I second what Rabid said, the wiper on high makes the car shake, it's effing fantastic!

What I am asking is that if I did the DTM look and put the wiper in the center, will it still function? Like will it clean both sides of the windshield then return to center? I'm assuming it does, but just never really knew for sure. I want to do it, but not if it will render the wiper useless.
