A customer of mine has a 1987 300SL for sale - it's his daughter's car, she is pregnant and needs a 4 door car.... he said today that he wants $4K for it...... I told him I didn't have the $$ right now, and would ask around for anyone interested. He didn't give me any more info than this, and I really know nothing about these cars..... Is it even remotely in the ballpark of pricing?

He DID say that it was a "euro" edition....duh......aren't they all??? :lmao: No clue on this one on my part.

Any thoughts on this? (Besides the fact a pic and more car facts would help...)

If it is a 300SL it is a European car. That means it was made and originally delivered in Europe and later imported into the united states. Often called "grey market" cars. The only other one I could find for sale with a quick search was a mint one with 141K Miles, Blue over Tan, asking $11K

Thanks for the info - he just told me about this today when we were discussing his artwork on his Fiero - he didn't act like he was trying to get a lot out of it, just wanted to be able to get his daughter another car.
If it's as well taken care of as his other cars (I have now seen 3 of his) then it's nice. I don't have the bucks to get it right now, or I might just consider it. If you hear of anyone interested, let me know and I'll get his contact info to them.
