Dwight and myself from CFBMW have been tossing this around for sometime, but don't know where to host it. Shoot straight in Central Florida maybe.
TM Ranch would have worked but i think they are closed now.
I got several handguns, a few rifles and a double barrel.

^ One of the sickest AR15's you'll see around. Only thing I am missing is a nightvision monocular ($2000-$3500) and a RDIAS (registered drop in auto sear, makes it legally fully automatic, $10000-$15,000). Basically things I'm not going to be able to afford for a long time heh.
Missing from the pics is my glock 26 and automatic 12 guage.
I'd be down, some other guys around here I have found out are into weapons as well.
We have Knights Shooting range here in the Tampa area, it is by far the best range around. Unfortunately it is $17 per lane, like $10 for each additional person, and that is for only an hour and never more unless you pay for it. How is Shoot Straight when it comes to time? When I was there last a few years ago it was fairly empty on a Saturday and I stayed for like 2 hours.
If you want to make an event out of it, the Manatee County Gun & Archery Club range would probably be best. The only downside is it is outside and some people might not like the heat, but it is otherwise probably one of the best ranges in Central FL... goes out to 1000 yards, and you can buy explosives to shoot there (tannerite) and I believe you can shoot up almost anything you want so long as you clean it up (no glass). I believe it is around $14 and you can shoot all day long if you want. I have gone there for machine gun events, I missed the last one but apparently they had a minigun or two (yes, just like the one from the Matrix/Predator/etc), along with your 'average' assortment of fully automatic M16's, MP5's, G36's, etc.

LETS DO IT :D

I'll go if Ben teaches me how to shoot his beretta, or if anyone has berettas I can be taught on, because I am really interested in taking gun classes and getting a 9mm beretta.
I've only ever shot a .38 special revolver, didn't get too much practice on it, I was starting to go deaf from the lack of earplugs or headphones... lol

I have never and won't ever shoot without eye+ear protection.
Nobody should be scared of guns -- you should be more fearful of driving your car than you should be of a gun. There are some basic rules you need to know and follow when handling a gun and once you understand and adhere to these rules, the fun begins :)

I've only shot a gun once when I was like 8... My dad has a handgun and he let me shoot it into some trees on a farm lol. I don't think an 8 year old with a gun was a great idea though

I've shot a desert eagle .50 before... just twice and that was more than enough, that thing is ridiculous :)
You should be able to shoot full auto almost anywhere you want (just ask if anything). You need to have the weapon properly licensed and you will need to bring your class III papers with you...
someday i'll own a full auto, they are a blast :headbang:

A shooting meet sounds awesome to me. I just don't have any guns (air rifle = lame, relatively). If someone wants to show me the ropes on their gun(s) though, I'd be all for it. I'll definitely have some of my own once I have my own place.
Of course, it depends when/where you guys are planning this. I don't really want to drive an hour and a half, plus I leave for college on August 15th.

I've been shooting many times. My friend John has many, beretta 92fs, AK-47 ppk, 30 aut 6 (sp?), 12 gauge, and .38 revolver. He'd prolly be down to go shooting but not over in Orlando that's kinda far when we can do it right here at Knights shooting range...

I heard Shooting Straight will be opening a huge gun shop and range in East Tampa on 301 just south of MLK sometime in November.
Its just minutes from my work so I can just drop by there during my lunch hour.
I've got a small collection of pistols and rifles (Taurus .38 special, S&W .22, S&W 9MM, Walther PPK/S, HK USP Compact .40, HK USP .45, Ruger Mini-14 Ranch rifle, .22 long barrel rifle) that I wouldn't mind taking out for some target practice.
There's really nothing to be afraid about guns as long as everyone practices safety.
If you're at a target range, safety is #1 and if you've never fired one, here are some basic things to remember.
1. Always treat a gun as if its loaded, even if you know its not. (it gets you into a good habit).
2. Always point the gun in a safe direction or down range and never at anyone.
3. If equipped, always engage the safety after fully discharging the weapon.
4. If a gun jams, engage the safety, point it in a safe direction, lay it down, and ask for assistance.
5. Use eye and ear protection.
There are other safety precautions, but those are just a few.
If you practice safe shooting, you'll have no fear, but pure fun.
I can't wait for that new place to open.

BassPro Shop in Orlando had a DE.50, for 1100$
I found a 1911, P.38 and M-11 here on the coast for that price combined at a shop.

You can add my Pops to that distinction. He has over 20 different types of guns (i.e. pistols, rifles, shotguns) in his prized collection, which he has had for years.
He and my Mom got a new BMW (2006 530i) earlier this year.
I barely have half as many (6 pistols, 2 rifles) as my Pops.
I'm sure the same can be said about us Benz owners.
