hey everybody! Thought a good way to get myself introduced around here is contribute a couple pics of my car. Anyone else out there with a coupe?

Style 42's ftw.
Can you explain?

Your wheels, they're Style 42 Cross Spokes in BMW's designation. One of my favorite wheels and go really well with the car and color.

oh yeah, I love those wheels too. I just wish the rear wheels had a bigger lip. Do you think that since they are two-piece rims, that i could get a fatter lip on it?

Not sure. It's a possibility, but it'd probably be quite expensive.

First off - great pictures! I have a friend that's looking at some E36/8's right now...

Second - yeah, I'm going to agree with Variance that it's probably going to be expensive to re-hoop the rears...might as well get some BBS that already have a nice lip!

Paul: I don't think it would be that expensive.. I think it would be the same as any other rim to rehoop... Are these stock rims? again, nice car man...

Love the Z3 Coupe. You don't see too many of those around. Nice color and wheels BTW. Batman has the M Coupe, just a tad faster ;)

yep, they're stock. Pretty much everything on my car is either stock or BMW parts. i.e.. euro bumper lights. Oh, except the tint. had to get one here in FL.

Does anyone know what part of florida batman2 lives in?
...Batman has the M Coupe, just a tad faster ;)
I'm pretty sure batman2 has the S52 motor, which only has a 15hp gain on me, but parts are more $$ and so is insurance. I'm very content with a Z3 coupe.

I wasn't putting down your Z3. You're right, the M54 and S52 aren't too far apart in performance.

Actually, I got it "imported" from Chicago. I scoured the internet for a '01-'02 Z3 coupe and this one only had 28k miles and was the right price. I've only had it two months now, so I'm still getting used to the idea that its actually MINE!

Not quite a coupe, but I am a rag-top kinda guy, so I took a little less comfort and a little less rigidity for the wind in my hair.

It's actually very interesting...
The Z3 Coupe is the only car in BMW's history where the M model actually has *MORE* cars produced per year (where both a M and non-M version were available). Very hard to find them.

I wish I had a decent camera. I almost bought a nice Canon 30D or wtfever, but I ran out of money when I realized I needed to pay for classes this semester.
If someone wants to lend me a camera I'd be happy to, though. And I gotta get video before/after exhaust sometime.

Incorrect, all Z3 body cars were produced in Spartanburg, SC. It's just that VERY few of the Z3 Coupes rolled off the line. BMW anticipated the low sales of such a niche car (M Coupe included) and accordingly dropped the production rate to generally <1,500 per year (About 1,000 M - 500 Z; I believe the S52 M Coupes were produced in slightly higher numbers than 1,000 however... I'd have to look it up and I'm lazy.). They assumed (correctly) that the car would be purchased in M trim more often than Z because the coupe version catered more to the weekend racing crowd more than the roadster's "poser" ideal.

Before I purchased this car, the only coupes I had seen in person were all M Coupes. It wasn't 'till after I purchased my car that i could say I've seen a Z3 coupe. (because i bought it from a dealer in chicago, i couldn't see my car 'till it was delivered).
Its really weird buying a model of a car you've never actually seen
