I thought I'd see if anyone's interested in buying this car, since it's been for sale for quite a while at our shop. It's a 1981 Delorean, i think it has about 37k original miles on it! and everything its in nearly top notch shape, but it needs some basic maitenance and one new brake caliper. There are a few minor interior problems like the shift boot, but nothing major. There's probably a ton of things im forgetting about this car, but if you'd like to get a first hand look at the car, stop by Stashu's german car workshop, located at 800W SR-434 in Longwood, which is north of Orlando. I think the current asking price is $18,000 OBO, which was knocked down from $21k. Here's just a couple pics:

Does it come with extra plutonium for the flux capacitor, or is that not included?

It comes with two spare cases of plutonium, one extra time sequence module, and one spare solenoid for the retracting wheels for flying mode.

Whats funny is you think im kidding.

can you get a pic of the flux capacitor for me? I need to see if it is damaged in any way.

yeah I would look into it, but don't deloreans have a thin aluminum body or something like that??

The body's all stainless steel. But geez, he originally wanted $21k? That's how much they sold for new; they go for more like $13-15k nowadays. Definately a cool car, though; gullwing doors are awesome.

are the 944s for sale?

Variance

Well, the one with the color-matched Ronals is his, and I kinda doubt the SCCA one is for sale. Who knows, though.

should have said any good 944 for sale.

There is a grey one here on the coast, and a black one. but neither really get my kicks.

hahaha well nope the 944 race car isnt for sale, but there is an MK1 vw scirocco SCCA H-Production race car for sale there, asking only 5k, super great deal, and there is also a red 1977 Porsche 911S for sale, umm i think asking 9k? (pic below). I think the owner of the Delorean was asking 21k because its all original (even the tires) and has less than 40k miles on it. Its a cool car in my opinion, i got to drive it once in a while since i worked at that shop, but it's not that enjoyable to drive.

The cool part about that red 944 is it's history.. that car was the 2nd 944 ever sold in Florida, and it started it's life as a race car for Rick Hurst Racing in 1983. It raced in the rolex series in 84 i think, but didnt win anything. Eventually one of the crew members of the car bought it after it was badly damaged, and he fully restored it, and currently owns the shop which you see it at.

the only pics i could scrounge up of the 911S were these from a photoshoot, but if anyones seriously interested in the 911S, Delorean, or VW race car, ill be happy to take more.

Deloreans are neato, but it is truely a shame that the motors are actually pretty weak. about 145hp stock.

Do you wash them with soap and water? Or like silverware cleaner?

haha, same way you wash a car normally!

polishing is a whole different story however...

That is one of the main reasons Deloreans are a pain; polishing.
