Been there, done that. You're lucky you don't have an ATW engine. $25 is a friggin bargain. I think I paid $70 a piece. :(

There all cheap now, retail is 89 bucks each for the ones I got. They sell them for CHEAP now because as many break, it was costing the dealer too much to pay for new ones for warranty. So to lower the price the dealer pays, the price in general was dropped considerably!

Not really specific to the 1.8T, common Audi/VW Problems are: Coilpacks, Window Regulators, AC Compressor, Water Pumps, Sunroof Switches
All of these are covered under warranty no matter how modded you are so none of them are to worry about

Very similar to the problems on BMWs too. Must be a german thing. :germanflag:

besides what is already listed....1.8t passat and audi a4's have a bad problem with engine sludging/gelling. if you are looking at one of these models look inside the oil cap and make sure there is no major sludge down in the valve cover or any caked up oil on the oil cap. if there is...don't buy it. its an easy fix..but in the event that warranty won't cover it you don't want to have to pay out of your pocket to fix it.

coils going bad are supposed to be one of the more common problems with the e46 m3... hopefully if i ever have engine trouble that severe, coils are the culprit as im sure there are worse things that could go wrong.
