I've been wanting to get 50% tint on the front windshield for so long. I don't want my car to be total black inside or anything, I just want it to keep heat out and make it easy on the dash when the car is outside in the sun.
I'm going in for 5% friday all around, but its hard to find places willing to put tint on the front, and do a decent job of it...

Looks good. I personally might go for tint on the front someday, I got 15% all around a few weeks ago and it goes well with my CB paint.

that looks bad ass....ive thougha bout doing mine since its a black car and the sun just turns it into an oven....imthinking it mightnot even help cuz ive tried using those car shades and its not noticably cooler when left outside

welli can answer b....no its not legal. i think whast 'legal' is 15 on the back window adn the rear qarter windows and 20 on the two front wondows....and deff no tint on the front

most cops dont seem to care though, i think the only thing that happens is that the shop that does ur tint wont give u a receipt if ur tint isnt 'legal'. they should still gave you the same warranty, but just no receipt so that you couldnt prove they go around doing illegal tints for ppl....if u would choose to do so

I have 15 on the two front windows, 30 on the two back windows, and 30 on the rear window....

Wanted to do a strip at the top of my front window, not a very big one but just down to my mirror... Dunno if I would tint it 50%...

Dunno what scale ur reffering 50% to since every tint is different but... That sounds pretty dark either way.... dunno how you would see where ur going at night. 30 is about as bad of visibility as I want to go.

5% is about the darkest you can go. 50% is the lightest.
I've had 5% on every vehicle, its needed down here, it's just too damn hot.

yeah i just realized that tint does really cool down the car alot. My sister has black leather in the car, and it isn't *incredibly* hot when you get in after it being out all day. With my car I'd burn myself on the shift knob for the first 5 minutes of driving it was so hot

yeah right now i have like 20% all around with a limo strip on the windshield and its not enough. my next car is going to have 5% all around and 50% on the windshield, my friend that just got a new volvo s60 got 22% (thats what the guy had?) all around (he was supposed to do limo) so the guy tinted the front windshield with 50% and the car is nice inside, its not too dark, but you raelly can't see in well

I've got 20% around the back, 30% on the driver/passenger windows, and the limo stripe on the top of the windshield...

the stripe isn't enough... I've been thinking about getting something on the windshield... Bob's car is HOT but I don't think I'd want it to be that dark on my car, just for the sake of being able to see at night...

i just got mine done last week. 30% all the side windows and 15% back and 50% front. I love the windshield being tinted so much cooler. the convenience of riding around in hot day without sunglasses is a plus to. I hated when I got sweat in my eyes from wearing h8erblockers..:rofl:

to clear things up. Florida law is 15 on the rear and rear sides, 30 on the front sides, and down to the AS1 mark on front. It is also totally legal to do "UV Shield" ( LLumar product ) on the front WITH A DOCTORS PRESCRIPTION which is very easy to obtain from any optomotrist(eyesight reasons) or dermatalogist(fear of skin cancer). Although the uv shield is only 75% it will 99.9% protect the dash and you from all UVA and UVB rays, and block about 20% of the heat and 20% of the glare. If the rest of your car is tinted it will also look fairly dark. I would highly recommend it so that the inside of your car is completly cut off from the sun.

I have no trouble seeing out at night with the HIDs, but I would not do 50 again... probably 75.

The only way I can discribe what it looks like at night is as follows
HIDs + 50% = feels like I have halogen headlights.

P.S. I tint windows, but did not do mine myself... thats all im gonna say for now... legal reasons:shhh:

I also have 50% on my windshield and 5% on the side windows. It looks great and keeps out alot of heat and sun. Unfortunatly i couldnt tint the rear window becasue its platic:(. I got it done at val's tint shop on 19 off of grand blvd. I strongly recommend there for anyone that wants a god tint job.

lol @ swap shop.. There tint is infamous for turning purple in a few years.. I go to a place in boca, off spanish river that has been tinting lots of my friends, so I get a cheap deal on good cut limo tint..

If you do a tint light enough thats its not BLATANTLY obvious you will be fine...

the 75% tint sounds like a decent idea for the windshield but i wouldnt go much darker than that.. some kid had his windshield tinted and he ran into my friend's e30 one night pulling out of starbucks.. ruined our drive through the twisties
