I am gonna try this setup I read on M5board, I posted it in the claybar thread, about 3m swirl remover and P21s carnuba wax...

Also I am investing and buying this..... http://crspotless.com/

I hate water spots, its the reason i don't wash my car like every 3 days and baby it

kelso

p21s is alright but id recommend other products above it.

seriously , get a sealant like poorboys ex-p or wolfgang deep gloss. then top it off with some pinnacle souveran paste wax. it will look amazing. trust me.

and i wouldnt waste the money on that water filter thingy. it looks to me like a very expensive version of the mr clean auto dry and if so, well the filters get saturated with minerals and such very quickly( thats what causes waterspots) and it loses its effectiveness. basically just wash it when the sun is going down or something. the salant and good carnauba mix will reduce waterspots too because the water just beads up for hours.its quite amazing...

I have the CR spotless unit and it works as advertised. You will need a pressure washer for it to be most effective. I have been using mine for about a year. At the first set of resin cylinders were not up to CR's standards so they sent me some new ones. I washed the car last week and did not dry the car. Just let it air dry and I have no spots.

Also, I have a tremendous amount of detailing products at the house. Also have a tent that I use sometimes when detailing the car. The products I have are FK, (have not tried it yet, but I have heard it lasts as long as zaino and looks better, the soap is amazing, very slick) Einzette (the full line) S100 (same as P21s) and various 3m compounds along with some other random products. Have a Porter cable RO and too many MF towels.....

I am in for a wash party. We can even do it at my place if you want. I have a 4 car garage as well.

Best,

Jordan

jordans house would be awsome....he has a huge driveway and a 4 car garage.

I wont be intown this weekend so im out!

M5Beast
07-12-2006, 06:09 PM
That would be sweet to do it there, cause I hate water spots with an undieing passion, and cannot wait to get the system!

I am also out of washing supplies, I'm going to order some sponges, towells, 3m swirl remover, and some P21s carnuba wax. Maybe I'll get a claybar too... the bimmer doesn't really need the swirl remover or the claybar, but my truck badly badly does...

The bimmer just needs to have the wax stripped and redone, and cleaned up.

yah, did you get my email jordan? :)

bellair=near teh beaches = near the bridge in my sig = good for pics afterwards.

there are also two parking garages we can use in downtown clearwater as well.

E46 M3 + E39 M5 + + E60 M5 = FTW ^ 3

I believe the road literally catches on fire if those cars are driving around together.

If jordan still has his E30 M3, we just need an E36 M3 and then we basically win at BMW's. M Coupe w/S54 might be there as well ;)

Yes Ben I got the email. Just did not reply yet.

We can do it at my place, just need to check with the wife and see if she has and family plans set. should be fine.

It does not matter to me either way. This weekend or when Kelso gets back or even if we don't do it at my house.

Just let me know.

I go to Sunshine all the time, I've never been to Bradenton but I want to go one of these days...

No, Sebring.

Next autocross is in brooksville on the 23rd...bmw vs. porsche. Several of us forum guys will be there and there are some slots still open:

if i do the interior that alone can take me like an hour...washing doesnt take all that long, but the waxing part? uhhh yeah another hour ;)

M5Beast
07-14-2006, 07:03 PM
I gotta stop by autozone and get a canister of armor leather wipes... it takes a whole canister to do my car once... Damn that full leather option lol

The outside takes me FOREVER, normally because I have to wash it, go over it to get the waterspots off, then wax it, then buff it... and I'm out of pads for my buffer

I definately have to come see this de-ionizing system.... if it works that well I'm definately investing in it, because I hate waterspots! Plus It takes de-ionized water to fill my fish tank and we may be starting it back up soon, so that makes things alot easier!

M5Beast

May need your help Kelso, the M5 has some hard waterspots from going to Naples and back twice, and now to Orlando... I also have a nice scratch down the side of the car from I don't know what...

944attack
08-11-2006, 07:08 PM
interesting, i spend about 11 minutes washing my car, which includes about two on the wheels. my paint is so old and dryed out that it's not worth trying to bring back. In fact, i have tried several things, all of which were fine for about a day, but just failed in the end. I just need a new paint job. :(

SlickShift
08-12-2006, 11:25 AM
Did you claybar and use an abrasive polish?

Just a normal wash, like the one I did yesterday, takes me about 2 hours...40 minutes on the wheels and the rest washing, drying, ect.

unless your paint has white spots ( heavy, heavy oxidation), i bet you it can be restored.

how do you spend 2 hours washing the car though... i could wash, dry, vaccum, and probably go over it with a quick detail and maybe dress the whole car!

the entire front, hood and doors of the car have heavy oxidation, lots of white spots, but the rear was repainted just before i got the car, so its not as dull but still looks crappy. Im just going to wait about another year or two to save up for a new paint job, i dont like the paint on my car anyway...

kelso
08-12-2006, 07:40 PM
