Best bet is to buy a new one, however, if that isn't an option.. These guys (http://kmdriveline.com/) built my custom 6-speed driveshaft (cut and welded stock driveshaft).. I dunno if they can/will rebuild one.. but could give them a try. It's in New York, but they're one of the best places around and have damn good prices.

Refused to do anything for me. Told em I needed it cut, welded, and balanced.. and they freaked the F out and told me they never touch BMW driveshafts.

Maybe I just didn't look purdy enough for them?

Edit: Matter of fact, figured I might as well tell you that EVERY driveshaft shop in the entire state of Florida refused to do anything for me as soon as I said "BMW" to them.

There were a handful of places that told me that wouldn't cut/weld because BMW driveshafts are spun weld (already knew this) and somehow they believed that you can't weld a clean piece of metal in any other fashion but the spin weld... which is utter and complete ridiculousness.

There were also a handful of places that told me they didn't even touch BMW driveshafts because the U joints were pretty much un-fixable w/o cutting and welding in new U joints. One place I talked to would do this, but they replace the OEM U joints w/ an American U joint that is easily rebuilt/replaced, but then I showed them the driveshaft and they said "Oh.. That's spun welded... can't do that." :banghead:

My custom 6 speed driveshaft works perfectly, despite the fact it was not given the OEM spin weld treatment. Hell, I didn't even have them balance it, that's how good the dude welded it. Perfect.

Long winded way of saying, "Buy a new driveshaft from Eric at South Motors BMW."

I would call Thomas at Cars & Concepts, he's got the hook up on many things.
