LD, just to give you a heads up, if your dad said 80's Porche parts were too expensive, you don't want a 931. Complete and utter maintenance whores, and parts can be very expensive. Don't get me wrong. it's a great car, but the stock engine is a timebomb. Granted, you can do a full conversion on the engine and get rid of all the problems, but I have no idea how much it costs offhand. Not cheap, I know.

yeah well Idk I can always ask because my dad is weird as hell sometimes.... He's talking about getting me the same but much slower version of the car, then doing an sti engine swap... He *really* doesn't make any sense sometimes lol

The car has around 78k miles. The engine hasent been rebulit that i am aware of.The turbo however was last yeer and only has about 1500 miles on it. Currently im asking around 2200 obo. I would hate to go much lower becasue i bought it for 1500 and put at least 2500 into it

My parents just left town today, so when they get back I'll mention it to my dad. Since the engine hasn't been rebuilt he wouldn't be thrilled, but for only $2200 we'd have enough left over to rebuild the engine.... (possibly new internals too lolz)

The turbo being replaced is a plus; 931's like to eat their turbos. If I remember correctly, they aren't oiled or cooled at all...

just some clarification on the turbo..It is aftermarket to the car so to call this car a 931 is not totally accurate but it is definatly still bitchin to drive.

So it's a 924 with an added turbo, rather than a factory 931? That's pretty interesting. Never heard of the 924's audi engine getting turboed, since the 931 had a completely different one.

924 is an audi engine?? I thought it was the VW parts car...

I posted before 914 = VW porsche.

Here I'll post it clearer this time.
The Porsche 914, introduced in September 1969, was a sporty, mid-engined two-seater with a targa top and a 4 cylinder boxer engine.
The idea for the 914 originated in the mid-sixties, when the presidents of VW and Porsche collaborated on an idea to produce a new sports car for each of their companies. Volkswagen wanted a new, sportier model to replace the Karmann-Ghia and Porsche would also use the car, but with all the components coming from the 911 series. VW would take 914 bodies and finish them as 914/4s, and Porsche would take their portion of the body shells, and build 914/6s. When sold in North America, however, all 914s would be considered Porsches.

if I wasn't looking for a e30 right now I'd think about the 924.

1.7 prob pre emissions

1.8 is prob post emissions

but the 1.8 makes more torque

like the BMW M42 vs M44(1.8 vs 1.9) both make 140hp

Yeah, but thinking a Porsche My Brain does not register double digit HP numbers :(

356A-C are the first porsche massed produced.

1200cc to 1600cc are the engine sizes. My dad has a 356B coupe' and is tinkering with a 1600cc flat four in his spare time for it.
