All this neg press is really hurting our company as a whole, but in reality it is only a small number of claims and all of the customer service reps who were hired 3rd party that knew nothing about the issues with the technology have been let go and they are working to hire people who specialize in customer support.

This info should clear up any confusion for anyone who has been keeping up with tbo/tampa tribs ongoing articles about the issues we had.

To anyone with the brighthouse setup...this is definately somethin to look into. i have had both brighthouse and fios, and there is no comparison. the clartiy of fiber is top notch, and both the upload and download speeds are ridiculous and totally worth the cost.

they are working to hire people who specialize in customer support.

Already going on now it's called PAM(personal account management) where you actually have ONE person who handles your account and everytime you speak to a rep you will always talk to that one person,, this is just unheard of with any other company

What do you have right now? If you have all three yes phone is almost free and if you only have internet/tv with the phone for about $10-$20 more you can get it all.

I got the triple package not too long ago and have been pretty satisfied thus far. No problems with the phone, internet is pretty quick, HD channels are great, but the regular TV channels are a little lacking compared to Brighthouse IMO. However, I'm saving money so that makes up for it. The only negative thing I could say about it all is the TV menu system still needs a little work. Nothing major since their last version came out which was a HUGE upgrade, but just some little things that Brighthouse is doing that I feel are really nice.

Overall, I'd give Verizon 8/10.

We have brighthouse right now. Usually good, but every once in a while it will have a bad week and just go in/out/shitty.

I am looking for faster upload speeds as well.

do you actually notice an improvement on faster speeds? cuz i dont know which one i have from fios, but its always fast when i am watching videos and etc and when i turn on bit torrents or just download music via itunes or limewire i get speeds around 1,400kb/s
so unless its a huge files(more then a GB) it only takes a matter of seconds and even for large video files around 400 or 500 mb its like 5 mins or so

will a bigger package(lol) actually get me faster speeds?

it depends on what "package" you buy, but yes, for the most part (aside from downtime/maintanance/bugs) the speeds are much faster and you will notice them

since some of you guys work for verizon do you know if there is a firmware upgrade or any thing for my fios hd box its the hd/dvr QIP 6416-2 I have nothing but problems with it freezing up and and have to reboot it constantly for various problems... also i dont get the reg hd channels like discovery hd and all that it says in not suscribed with bright house that all came on the hd box you didnt have to pay extra... I'd just like to say damn FIOS is fast. Torrents that used to take a day to DL now take 45 minutes! This is mostly due to the faster upload speed.

yes there are always firmware upgrades. the best thing to do is call in a complaint and they will come switch the box out for free. this goes for regular boxes as well. this is the #1 complaint i've heard of and it has one of the easiest/cheapest fixes.
just call em up and they will work with ya to get a tech out. :thumbu:

Ive had Fios internet for like 5 months now and I love it. Last night I download cs3 elements at over 600kb/s and Ive download stuff at over a mb/s :eek: It's pretty reliable too. Its only gone down on me like twice for a short time.

i've had fios internet as well for close to 2 and a half years now, love it alot
just making the change from normal over the line verizon phone to fios phone and from brighthouse to fios tv

Fios has been out that long? Damn I thought it was only about a year old.

Anyways, if anyone doesn't have Fios and is thinking about the switch, you should definitely do it. I had comcast cable for years and it wasnt as fast or reliable as Fios and I got a deal where I only pay $35 a month for like 6 months and then like $40 after that. Something along those line, I forget exactly what the deal is.

yup had it since it came out, and they just left after installing everything, got my fios phone, my fios tv, and my fios internet, and had them upgrade from 10/2 to 20/5 :)

I have roadrunner, and dave has the middle speed fios... we started a download simultaneously, and he got it in a couple of minutes and was like 30 or 40 for me.. LOL!
