So its time for me to detail my car once again and since my car front bumper has smashed bugs on it from driving to tampa and back I thought I should do it tomorrow.
I use clay bar, wax and polish after a wax, but what is the best order to do it in. I usually do wash, clay bar, wax, polish.
I heard after I did my car last time that I should switch the order between the wax and polish?

yes
polish fills in the scratchs or takes them out(depending on polish) and then the wax is the top protective layer

+1 polish is before wax, always

+2
I think the polish actually removes the wax. Or at least the wax integrity.

Last time I did wax then polish, it was shiny as hell for a few days, then the polish residue started to droop down the sides
lol
looked amazing for awhile after every wash though

Ice polish, NXT wax, meguiars clay bar

both the NXT line and the meguiars clay is good stuff(defienitly not the best out there but more then adequate for a DD, some show people do use it as well) but the ICE polish :bonethug: i honestly detest the stuff
the ice polish is not a true polish in my eyes, it acts more like a light filler and more of a glaze/gloss enhancer
or atleast thats the affect it gave to me when i tried it out, but if you really like it, i have a close to new/full bottle i'll give you cuz i never use it and wont use it again

What would you recommend for a polish then?
Somewhat cheap ofcourse

decently cheap and works great for me on silver colored meguiars No. 7 show car glaze
i've seen it at advance and discount auto parts, about 10 bucks if i'm not mistaken, but defiently worth it, its a very very mild polish so it will cover up or remove most minor swirls, there is other stuff i use but by machine and when i need to remove large scartchs
anyone else have an opinion?? :dunno:

You cant put polish on top of wax. Well you can put it wont do anything. The wax is the final layer of protection.
