Hi,

I'm new to the site and this is my 380SL which my family has owned since it was new.
I'm in the process of doing a little restoration on it, but besides that it runs great.
Anyway, just wanted to say hello.

Wow, really clean Mercedes. I'm assuming it's a V8 since 3.8 liters was big in '83. Hope to see you at some meets.

Thanks for the cool comments and welcomes.

Yep. They're all mine. Actually, the Mercedes will officially be mine once my Father transfers the title to me next month.
I've been driving it for the past 5 years and so I promised him that I would take excellent care of it.
I guess I can call myself a Carnnoiseur. OK. I made it up, but I love cars. :D

You got it. Its a V8. I try to take good care of all my cars.
It needs a good wash and wax though. Hopefully, I'll be able to get some time to wash it this weekend, barring rain, if any.
There's a little fender bender on the rear, but its not that bad. I'm planning on getting it fixed real soon.
I would like to keep this car as original as possible so if any of you know any local places that sell used Mercedes parts, please let me know.
I want to replace the sun visors and the power antenna with OEM parts.
My current restoration is to replace the seats upholstery. All those years of driving has worn out the color and surface of them. I have the new upholstry, but I just need to get it installed.
I'm looking forward to the meets and meeting fellow German car owners like yourselves.
:thumbu:

Thanks again everybody!
I hoping to get my little restoration and minor repairs done ASAP so that I can take it out to some meets.
It would be nice to see this thing parked next to some other fine German cars like yours. :thumbu:

And, by the way, you all have some cool cars, as well.
I've always been a fan of Mercedes and BMW. My love for Mercedes is obvious, but for BMW, lots of my friends and family have owned them in the past and present (I, especially, remember my longtime friend's 1996 M3, ) so I came to enjoy and drive BMWs.
In fact, my folks just got a 2006 530i through Reeves. They pre-ordered it and then, after it rolled off the assembly line, flew to Munich Germany to test drive it for a week.
I wish I could've gone, because I would've loved to drive it on the Autobahn.
My Father offered to order me a new BMW, and then I could do the same thing they did, so I may have to take up his offer.
What do ya guys think?

I would love to get one, but I don't where I would put all these cars.
Maybe Jay Leno will rent me some space in his garage. :D
I'll have to think about it, because it would involve sacrificing one vehicle and I don't want to get rid of any of them.

A weekly wash! HMM I may have to take up your offer. :D

 Bye talon...

Yeah. I guess the Talon would probably be the logical choice, but its my little (30+ MPG) gas sipper and daily driver.
Thats the main reason why I would rather keep it since its a non-turbo and gets great MPG.
I'll figure out something so don't you all worry. I'll just focus on the BMW first and worry about that later.
