SPARKNOTES: Drove new 997 twin turbo, stupid fast, get one if you have the hundred something thousand to spend..

Ladies and Gentlemen... :D (long but it was the time of my life buddy)

I was in Orlando for a few days, and one of my brothers friends, who is rather wealthy I should say, had just gotten his 997 Twin Turbo. The car had approximately 700 miles on it.. The story that follows, is true, except for the driving part... that uh, never happened.

We walk into his garage, car nearest to me, Black on black 997 Twin Turbo, next to that 996 Twin Turbo, black on black, full techart bodykit, dyno'd at 605whp..
Next to that you ask? Lamborghini Gallardo SE #117 out of 250 in steel gray...
And then a S/C'd Range Rover for a beater..
Nice setup...

The keys come flying out of nowhere into my brother's hand, with the words 'Let me know what you think, but try and bring it back into one piece.."

Will try to do so..

He drives it, wow its freaking fast, but my brother takes it easy, nothing to crazy, he pulls over.. My turn.. :thanks:

I get in, the I put the clutch in and move it to first. The shifter felt like a g35 transmission, short throw and hard to move, very little sloppiness, but tighter and cleaner than the g35, hard to explain..

The clutch felt like a plastic pedal (it was metal though) and like it was electronic and had no mechanical parts..
I start off, almost stalling, the clutch felt like a real on/off race type engagement, for the first second I was like "What the s h i t ?!?!" But I really liked it the more I drove it, it was an awesome clutch..

Ok back to hauling buttocks..

I turn back on to the road, get the car straight, and then go to floor it at around 1800 rpm's.. Before my foot hits the floor, no BS, I was pegging the rev limiter.. I think I gained about 5 miles an hour. Right, so I'm at like 15 right now.. Car just spinned the tires, no traction.. I put it in second, get up to about 30ish steadily, then floor it, nice little jump for about 1000 rpms, then the turbo's kick in, about 1.2 bar, car felt like it was gonna take off, and as soon as I had floored it, I look down, 85 miles an hour.. Ok shut it down... I did a few of second gear runs, just getting on it at mid rpm range and the car sounded beautiful and performed like a champ..

This car is no joke, people had hoped that it would be a ZO6 competitor, and I think it is..
Sure first gear was a joke, but start off in second, its a monster. I don't even want to drive it again, its that scary... It is an incredible piece of machinery and I can't wait to see some comparisions with this car.

I wish I had brought my camera, only this one with my phone came out half decent, the rest you couldn't see crap, it was night.

No videos?

I am guessing your brothers pal lives in Lake Nona or Isleworth, MABYE Winter Park. Am I close?

Well it wouldn't be smart to say his exact address, but he is very close to UCF, that's all I can say really. With his garage, he doesn't want many people knowing where he lives.

That's awesome Nick. I though the Turbo was AWD? So you were spinning all four tires in first! That's crazy.
