Jetta 1.8 exhaust modifying need help

I have a Jetta 1.8 turbo GLI and i want to improve the sound and performance of the car. Im trying to find the best way to do that. I was thinking maybe take the cat off and put borla muffler on it. Any other suggestions? i dont want it to sound like a ricer honda tho... Not too high pitched.

Sound: testpipe and borla muffler

Performance: Plain and simple, chip

Exhaust doesn't do much for performance. Maybe 8 HP. But if its chipped the numbers maybe go up to 11-12 hp.
