hey guys,
just had a question... evidently when my mom backed her expedition out of the parking spot at publix a guy in a crown vic backed out at the same time. they both stomped on there brakes and my mom didnt think she hit him so she went to the 7-11 well the guy comes up and shows her that they hit. there is some paint scratched and a crack in a chrome piece, also the metal is kind of dented. Is this her fault or are they bith to blame??? j/w thanx for the help guys.

They're both to blame, kinda depends who backed out first. If I was a judge I'd say more his fault because she has the big suv and cant see as well. However, since she *left* thats really bad.... He could technically call it a hit and run on her. You always need to get out and check

im no policeman but yea sounds like it could be a potential hit and run if the guy is a dick.. other than that maybe tell mom to get car that she is capable of knowing when she hits someone ?

Sounds like FL-No-Fault scenario. Does she have marks on her's? Maybe it is fraud and they have been there?

Pfff, if he didn't call the cops or file a claim yet, GOOD LUCK pinning the blame on your mom. This is already a non issue. If this guy really wants to involve insurance to fix his crappy Clown Dick, err Crown Vic (actually I hate that nick name but everyone on the Impala forums call them that) then good luck fighting with your Mom's insurance, only to raise his own rates. Her best beat is to deny anything ever happened, no one has any proof. Although I WOULD ask Publix if they have tapes of the parking lot at the time, hell, it might have been HIS fault. What's to say they didn't hit at all, and he just wants money? The whole thing is a giant load. Your Mom should be screaming "fraud," hell, she didn't even feel anything. Why didn't he stop her immediatly, and call the police? Because he's a scammer!!!! You're welcome for my expert analysis. My suggestion is, ignore this guy unless he tries something really stupid like involving insurance, which would be a giant waste of his time.

Right, what I mean is, maybe HE backed into HER while she was in the store, then waited for her to come out and act like they just rear ended each other. It's not totally out of the question, people are SICK. There's no proof of anything, his word verse hers.

"I came out of the store, got in my car, this guy comes to me at a gas station saying he rear ended me, now he wants money???" If he tried to file a claim with your insurance comany (good luck, does he even know your Mom's name and/or insurance company... which in ANY standard accident would be swapped when the police got there)

Your insurance company would fight them tooth and nail for having no proof, and no police, and a claim filed THIS late. Honest, heed my words and totally ignore everything. Who knows if this is a scam or not? How would you not feel getting rear ended? I don't care how big your suv is, if it caused damage, you'd feel something.

I say no fault. How can they, at this point, say who backed out more or who did not see who. It is a crock of **** to me.
