I found an '89 300E that I want to pick up for a multitide of reasons, but I'm wondering if I'd have to pay out the ass for insurance just because it's a Benzo, even if it's older than me. I haven't really looked for quotes yet, either...

I looked at getting my car in my name and the insurance was ridiculous. The guy told me the quote and I laughed at him. And my car is also older than I am, by a year, and has 255,000 miles on it.
Best thing to do is shop around for quotes and keep your driving record clean.
Well you can save some $$ by not adding bodily injury to the policy. When I bought my 530 my qoutes where around $450 to 600/month .. I got a no name insurance comp (DirectGeneral) Now I pay $300/month still a lot but I'm the only one on the Policy @19 yrs old...Get a qoute (800) 444-4211 or http://www.direct-general.com/auto_insurance.aspx The only down side Is you have to pay it every 20 days or something like that, so this month I paid $600 in car insurance

I know that my 190 was less than half the amount that my 98' Buick was, but then again I am under my parents name...
