Breakfast with Derek Bell
Derek Bell, a five-time winner at LeMans, will be joining our Breakfast Club in September. He raced in a number of Formula 1 races for Ferrari, McLaren, Tenco and Surtess. He’s most remembered though as the man who dominated LeMans in the early eighties. His paring with Jacky Ickx and the Porsche 965/962 is a legend. It’s really exciting that we’ll have a chance to talk to Derek and ask questions about his years of racing. As usual we’ll start gathering around 9 in the morning and if we follow our usual pattern we’ll all be home for lunch.
We’ve been having a pretty good turnout during the off-season. I’m sure this will continue for our September gathering. The good part is that Debold Performance has lots of parking. They also have a really good map on their web site.
The Breakfast Club is a monthly gathering of car enthusiasts from the Naples and Fort Myers area. We have no real purpose except we enjoy talking about cars. We meet on the 2nd Saturday of each month at various locations in the Fort Myers and Naples area. It doesn't matter what sort of car you drive - you just have to enjoy cars, and hanging out with other people that are the same way.
September will be a good time to bring neighbors and friends. We can never have too many people.
