Anybody tried the K&N aircharger (#63-1115)??? I heard from K&N today on it and they are showing dyno charts of 18 HP at 7000. Their other models like the typhoon are showing about 8HP.

Any thoughts???

I can see 8 hp, but not 18. I mean it's possible, but seems very unlikely

looks nice! and on closer look, it brings in cold air? how much for it?

Dinan makes one for the 540i, they want $600 for it...

Peak Horsepower Gain: 13 @ 5700 rpm
Peak Torque Gain: 12 lb/ft @ 5700 rpm

I don't think K&N makes an Air CHarger for the 540i. I bet someone on here could explain CAIs better.

Wow! Your crazy! An M62 on NOS, sounds like fun. Or death, lol.

Its cool to have a 540 member who is into modifying their car, I will be taking the same route.

I'd really like to hear the Eisenmann, a lot of people seem happy with it.

Are you going to come out to the JUne 24th Meet?

I havent decided if im going to take the resonator off yet or not. I want it to sound kinda mean. I'm thinking of replacing it with a dynomax resonator.

now that what im talking about... modding the shi.t out of a 540... love the e39's

I have researching into 540 modification pretty heavily, I can pretty safely say that removing your resonator completely, you will not be happy with.

My plan is to get the Dynomax Resonator, copy cat! Most of the people go with that resonator, seems to be the best choice.

Can't wait to see/hear your car! Where abouts in Tampa do you live?

I'm close to Westshore. It's kind of a work in progress. I was thinking of having Gene Perez paint my bumpers for me I hear he does a great work, any suggestions?

Gene has been doing work for our family all the way back to our '88 528e. He just recently painted most of my Sisters car (got keyed), and did a brilliant job.

I live just off westshore, could you tell me more specifically where, I could bike by. I am usually running up and down westshore anyways. You can Private Message me if you want instead of posting it publicly.

Revis heard good and bad about it. Good gains, know of people dynoing gains around 12whp. Make sure you modify the stock air flow screen to fit in the new tubing and for overkill seal the heatsheild. I need to leave but when you are ready PM me and I will find some specific DIYs. ;)

for the original poster, there seems to be many happy people with the cosmos CAI.. http://www.cosmosracing.com/PRODUCTS.html

i think it used to be only 129.. looks like the price has changed

when i get the time im going to get one i think. I'd also like to get a chip though like the one from turner motorsport. I'm not sure if you have to use the same brand chip and intake for it to work together right..

I have the cosmos racing intake....I like it alot

power wise you dont feel much because it does do very little, But the sound alone makes it worth it

plus you can just feel how the car breaths better.....just make sure you get cosmos racing and not the cosmo racing intake
I dont think it matters what chip you have for them to work the correct way but im not sure

Get a JC Chip or get a Dinan chip, they are selling all of their chips for 50% off

i think you meant http://www.dinanbmw.com/

and it looks like for a 93 e36 the chips are listed for $299. If they're normally $600 thats re****indiculous.

I have the K&N 63 Series intake on my car and I love it. I got it because it replaced more than just the filter. I don't think it added much hp, maybe a little high end. Install is pretty easy. I highly recommend it! :thumbu:

$299 is the regular price. The chips are only ~$150 now!

My ECU programmer cost me $600, but it was totally worth it cuz I got 25-30 hp out of it.... I mean, for the whole like 2 hours I had it installed :/
