Just gauging interest in a Gainesville meet.

Hey guys, theres all these great meets happening in Tampa and Orlando...but now that I'm here, is there any love for Gainesville? If I organized a meet in August, who would be up for driving up here? We have a great group of cars up here that's still growing and getting better. I would love to get some of you guys up here. If you would be interested in something in mid August, post your name on the rollcall (under the appropriate section and list your ride) so I can start planning and getting a good location.

A location is tentative right now. I'm considering holding the meet at Best Motor Works & Sports in town. I'm going to speak with them today and see if they have an interest in letting us hold a meet there.

I'm going to try and work out details before the weekend and get this thing moving. There's enough room for about 40 cars to attend, and we're going to work on details for food, prizes, and maybe some tech sessions.

You haven't been there in a while. But Mickey repaved the side lot so there's no more potholes. We can fit about 15 cars in front of the building, on a Sat., he's going to get permission to use up the whole block so we can fit 15 more out front, and another 15 can fit on the side. We'll bust out with the BBQ and whatnot. He has a diagnostics machine now and he'll do little computer changes for free. We're gonna see if we can work out a raffle of some prizes and whatnot. I'm even going to talk to All Pro to see if we can get an M5 or something out there for us to check out.

Ocala Gran Prix is not feasible to rent out. They want far too much for too little time. We either will have too little people going and paying too much, or too many people going and not having enough time to get everyone out on the track.

I think it would be a fun event to meet at Best Motor Works.
