sounds good. i dont know many people who gets methanol injection so its nice to see someone who knows what will really help the performance a bit. nice buy

Theres not much left as far as engine mods that I dont have. Trying to get everything I can out of this turbo before I upgrade again!

Stock K03 is good for 230hp, the K04 Im running is good for about 270 which im just slightly exceding now with the water/meth injection, getting close to upgrading yet again to either a GT28RS for about 400 or a GT2871R, good for about 450 ... of course these are all flywheel numbers

nice. my friend wants to buy an s4 and get 2 ko4's on it. should be fun if he ever gets it

B5 S4's with K04's make somewhere just over 400hp, its pretty expensive to do so though because most of the parts used are OEM from the RS4. The 2.7T is definitely one of the most potent Audi engines!!!!

That's a nice kit right there. I know Kevlar and I had planned on doing a water or CO2 sprayer for the intercooler, but I hadn't thought about the meth/water injection. After about a week tell me how you like it!

So far its great! Havent had much time to play with the timing but I pushed it up 4 degrees and still not the slightest hint of detonation! After this stupid hurricane passes Ill play with it some more and do some A/F and timing logs!

Call me a noob, how does this work?

I think you should come to the dyno day and since you get 3 pulls do some tests. Do the first one without it, second up 5 degrees, then 3rd up 10 degrees. I'd be really interested to see what kind of hp gains you get.

OOOOO tasty mod, if i give it more boost im might do the meth.

Good stuff shawn, let's go play around with it :)

W/A injection works off of a Hobb(Boost) switch. When the switch sees a certain boost level, it triggers the pump, which sprays the mixture into the intake stream...

The liquid cools the charge air and reduces detonation, and as a result, allows you to add more timing...More timing = More power.

W/A injection is useless for power purposes unless your motor is "maxing" out...

Nice! Good write-up too!

... I need to get a decent paying moonlighting job so i can afford to play catch up... this is something I think would definitely be doable on my GTI...

Call me! I just changed to the smaller nozzle, I had the 375cc in, but switched back to the 225cc. It felt like it was choking it out a bit at low boost. Im going to advance the timing 4 degrees and see what happens later tonight. I dont have a clue as to how far I can push it so I guess Ill start there and do some data logs of timing and A/F

Any idea of what flow rate you ran in the M3?

Very interesting mod...Mercedes used water/methanol injection on their model 603 engines in fighter planes during WWII. :dunce: (senior project was on German engineering)

You'd drive all the way up to orlando to get it $20 cheaper than local??

I didnt know there was any place in Sarasota first off. And yes Id rather drive because ive been on that dyno before and know what I previously put down. If its a Mustang dyno Id consider going somewhere else. Dynojet's are too conservative and give high numbers. Mustang's and CFT's dyno are pretty true to what the car really is!
