I'm in DIRE need of an alignment. I recently got one from tire kingdom, and they ROYALLY ****ed my **** up. My wheel is at about 45 degrees to the right to go straight.... I'm getting tires tomorrow and figured this would be a nice thing to do for the car, maybe it will improve the ride a little. Let me know ASAP. Thanks in advance.

P.S.

Other places tried by people I know, that said they suck:

tampa bay wholesale
tire kingdom
goodyear

a while back i went to sears of all places in brandon mall.. they gave me a diagnostic printout and everything..

it actually had the 19's on when they did it not 17's so they can accomodate bigger wheels if you have them.. cost $100 but it rode like it should after they did it. straightened the steering wheel too

I have to say the dealer is a very good place to get an alignment. I have used Reeves a few times and they did exactly what I wanted. They also put weight in the drivers seat to simulate a driver.

Best,

Jordan

Oh yeah...... you might want to wait to get the new tires on before you get an alignment........not sure if you were gonna do that or not paul but as i read your post seemed like maybe you had gotten one recently and you were gonna get another before putting new tires on.

Paul i can do the at my shop.....I have the new hunter alingment machine

you get a print out, and we put wieghts in all the seats and trunk ect to simulate passengers..

for reg cars its 69.95

but because bmws require a littlemore work weights ect..its 99.95 let me know

Dealer is the only place that got my alignment perfect but my dad did it at jaguar of tampa on a super duper high performance 4 point laser platform that sits about 5 feet in the air.

I had asked my dad how much an alingment was for pauls car and he told me 99.95....but i guess he had already lowered the price

he usually charges 119.95 for bmw alingments....

so 99.95 is the best i can do for Floridagerman members.

to do the alingment right you will need to come with a full tank of gas and we need any where from 1-2 hours with the car depending how off it really is.

right now my dad only has one other guy working for him so untill we find another full time mechanic we wouldnt be able to do 7alingments in one day

If you're in S. Tampa, Southern Tire does a pretty good job. $70, 1 yr warranty, pretty high tech machine, and they give you the stats before and after.

Yea the last place I went to they SHOWED me the before/after and the rear cambers were both negative .7 degrees...

Anyways 3 months later my tire wear is totally wierd. The rear left tire is completely worn on the OUTSIDE of the tire, and the inside of the tire has a lot of tread..... That's the opposite of what should happen, This can only mean that somehow they gave me positive camber even though their machine showed negative..

Those fookers......

It shouldn't if it was torqued correctly.

I was there watching the stuff, they did it right there and they do have a machine. It even prints out the numbers.

I would give them a call for a quote and ask for Thomas. Phone is 813-348-6183.

They do everything you need done there.

hmm will try again tomorrow for an alignment. they said they couldnt put springs on struts for like 3 weeks.. they said they're short some mechanics or something. Do they have some kind of warranty? Someone mentioned on baybimmers tirekingdom has a 3yr warranty. im sure they wouldnt do a great job though for 3 years. $100 is alot to pay for something to be done wrong. Maybe they could solve this mysterious problem where the right side of the car is at least a half inch lower than the left side, if not more. I thought it was because the stock suspension was blown out but now its still the same after the new..

Just lowered my car and I need an alignment.

So I go to Southern Tire (yes they do use weights) and they were backed up the last 2 days.

Dealer wants $175...

Cars and Concepts is booked up for 2.5 weeks

JCapelo I'd use your dad's shop if it was closer

Dave White Autosports said they dont do it in-house

Why is this such a pain in the arse?

They attach alignment heads to each wheel and the computer helps you calibrate the cars alignment.

C&C does good work but they recently lost their main alignment guru guy Dan.

ok, i found a place on a recommendation from rennen imports...

tires plus on kennedy, they have a brand new hunter machine with the lasers.

i was VERY apprehensive. a lot of the guys looked lost. the manager was telling one dude to rebalance all the tires on a benz he just worked on...

the alignment guy was experienced though. and they use weights...but instead of weights, they let me sit in the drivers seat.

i'd use them again.

I would recommend Tires Way of America off of 50 (if you're in Orlando) they did wonders for every car i've brought to them and they give you print outs telling you what they changed and they go over everything with you as well.

Hi Chris, That is not quite correct! FYI The main alignment guy is Steve as you well know. He is the one who trained Dan only a few years ago. Dan is an excellent tech.as well as an alignment tech. Also the computer does not calibrate the cars alignment.....That is done only by a person who can do a good alignment. Steve will be at Cars and Concepts doing and or overseeing alignments the same as always.

I said the alignment heads/computer helps you, as in the technician doing the work, does it not? Alignments without such a machine would be next to impossible and not as accurate as the one you use at your shop!

Dan was very good at alignments YES. Although I think he brought more to the table after learning from Steve. Like when he researched how to use the corner balancing system correctly etc which he in turn taught to Steve. :dunno:

Vortex Motorsport has a nice machine and Ralph over there does a good job on the cars. Mine is over there now getting realigned after someone smashed into me. They are on Hillsborough Ave. Hope that helps.
