1988 BMW E30 M3 234,000 on Chassis. This is a track/AutoX car.
I have had this car for 6 years and I am thinking it may be time for something different. I rarely drive this car on the street, mostly to and from the track. I have taken very good car of this car and it does not “look” like it has 234K on it. Virtually everything has been replaced except the chassis and a few other bits. The car is not perfect. Is the car able to be registered and insured?

100% street legal. It is registered and insured. Thee cool thing is it qualifies for collector car insurance. Less than 400 bucks a year with limited street use. Track miles don't count.

What are the requirements? You ever research it?

I have a policy with Parish-Heacock costs 400.00 limited to 3000 miles per year. Agreed value of 20K no deductable (i think). They do not cover the track so I just keep a log of track miles.

I think the main requirement is a license for 10 years.

Thanks for the kind words about the car and thank you Eric for posting up some pictures. I will take some as well and post them as soon as I can.

I have been going back and forth on selling the car but I am pretty sure it is time for her to go to another good home. I do love the car and she has been a blast to own and drive.

This weekend will be my last drive with her at Sebring and if anyone wants to come down for a ride I am more than happy to give you one.

I would love to sell the car locally if at all possible. But I do know that if I put her up for sale on S14.net she will go pretty fast or at least I hope so.

Like I said in my earlier post if anyone wants to come by and look and take her for a drive I am up for that. Tire kicking is fine with me. Just trying to spread the word. I am in Belleair.

Damnit, I'd love the car but my dad has a real issue with older cars and since it's track prepared.... He'd rather me waste my money doing it myself... I'll bring it up with him again if I can though :)

Will he be at Sebring this weekend?

It is track prepared but does get driven to and from the track. I daily drove it until March of last year. I am getting old at the M3 was getting stiff if you know what I mean.....

Yeah, that's a track car that can be driven on the street... I need a street car that can be driven on the track if that makes any sense... lol
