WSR is a weighted shift rod, pretty much just weighs more so it carries more inertia to "push" into the next gear.

A DSSR (dual shear selector rod) is just a CNC'd shift rod that has very very tight tolerances (thousandths of an inch) to get rid of oem shifter play/slop. Paul has one on his car and it helped get rid of some of the shift linkage rod play.

either one will work with the 325/318's tranny then?

I'll go with the DSSR, cause i like a tight shifter, plus I think UUC makes a DSSR.

order Delrin bushing last weekend from Bimmerworld....so hopefully combined it will get rid of the excessive movement in the shifter.

which size DSSR does the 318/325 tranny take? 189mm or 198mm. prod. date 10/95.

198mm __ 1994-1995 325i (9/94 production and newer - earlier uses DSSR189mm)

Refer to uuc motorwerks site.
http://www.uucmotorwerks.com/

Search for dssr 318 you'll see a few results.. and just click on the 198mm one.
