I just ordered my whites instead of the yellow crap i have on my car now and i'm having a hard time choosing between the LED tails or just the regular tails....the reason this is so hard is because i was wondering how hard it would be to wire LED tails into my car? If anyone has done it or knows how to do it let me know....because if its to tedious and difficult i won't bother with the LED and just go with the regular white tails.

If they are aftermarket LED tails they will hook to the existing harness. If they they are oem you need to have 02+, buy new harnesses and have your LCM reflashed by the dealer. The aftermarket ones work fine.

This seller sells good ones. Gar-gym.com is also a good site to get them. Same prices but shipping is more.

i wouldn't need to go to the dealer to get the to get the LCM reflashed because i have the too at my body shop so the reflash isn't a problem its the wiring that i was worring about.

Nah, harnesses from the dealer are like $8-12 no big deal. That is only if it is OEM you should need them.

when i called reeves today they were like u'll need to re-wire the entire thing blah blah blah...but if all i need is a harness then i'll go with the LEDs

They are morons, I can find some stuff for you. Here is one on the top of my head. The only thing that will not work out-of-the-box will be the adaptive breaking. (on OEM) that is the last outer ring only lights up if you pound on the pedal super hard that ring lights up. You do not have that sensor in your pedal for that. So you can rewire so it comes on all the time with your regular braking.

Depends on the price you get. This is the whole kit you will need:

BTW you do not need 807 & 808. Your factory ones will have those.

That is brand new oem from the dealer. I would prefer OEM over aftermarket naturally but if aftermarket is significantly cheaper I would rock aftermarket.

See: right when you think Dave is just a post whore and has no useful information I surprise you ;)

Harness I would get from any dealer. They are only ~$14 each. Then if you want we can mod them to get the adaptive to work. ;)

thats cool cuz i have the lights coming in tomorrow prolly but they aren't LEDs i can just tell them to send me the LEDs instead and send the harness as well...but again i don't understand why the guy ordered all that extra stuff on his reciept.

What do you mean? So you got OEM just not LED? If that is the case the harness you have will work fine.

TheDarkSide
05-31-2006, 03:06 PM
That is what you would need for a full LED conversion less the 807 and 808.

So you didn't get the LEDs? Either way, clears will make your car look 10x better!
