Just found this site. I live in Panama City and been a bimmer fan for awhile. Just sold my 85 325e last week and picked up a 88 635csi last weekend. It's been good to me for now :D I see the barron is on here as well

welcome and congrats on the new (to you) ride! i love the old 6 series :thumbu:.
btw, an older 6-series went by me a few weeks ago on the interstate with an M6 badge on the back. was this truly an old M6, or just an M6 badge on a non-M? i ask b/c i don't recall whether or not BMW made an M6 on that chassis.

I am pretty sure we had the old M6 here. There was a red one at Reeves a few months ago.

i wonder if your picture is pre-1982 and mine is post-1982 :dunno:...the sidemarkers in my picture are on the front and rear bumpers as they wrap around the quarter panels...whereas the sidemarkers on the car in your picture are actually ON the front and rear quarter panels. i'd die to have either one haha.

did the pre-1982 M635 actually wear an M6 badge like the S38 powered one?
anyways, its nice to have some rare cars in the community...i see way more Ferraris than i do E24 6-series where i live.

k after redoing my research euro cars were called m635 starting in 84, US cars were called m6 and started in 87. the euro cars only had a M badge, while US had M6

the one in the picture i posted is a european M635, im not sure what the year is on it.
here is the same car, from the back... notice the badge only says 635csi, even though it truthfully is an ///M.
two easy ways to tell its european... check out the bent license plate to fit in the euro plate area, and also the bumper trim wraps around the sides and the bumpers dont stick out nearly as far as the US cars.
also the sidemarkers are like this on the eurpean cars, the american verisons all had them on the side of the bumpers. (i think)

Yes, but almost everything there (except for the bent plate) could easily be put onto any 6er. You can buy Euro bumpes and side markers.

thats true. this thing was authentic to the max though. I remember the guy saying this one was imported over from Germany, and then he showed us the bent tag and stuff. He was some retired football player guy from georgia which explains the "dawgs 7" on the plate.
