Well I could go one for hours what I really need but that is what I need immediately. I brake wear indicator has been on for a while and I think I can start to hear some scraping in the front driver rotor. You think I can get away with just getting pads or do I need to get some rotors too? I think they may be below spec. I would like to order something now while the car is in its down tome and already on jack stands on the garage. I have heard Hawk and Axxis are good.

Secondly I just had my car towed from the dealer to my garage because they wanted $1800 to fix a defective pressure plate (i hope that it) so we have been working on it in my garage. Point is now my tow hook cover is MIA.

Typical stealership treatment....I use brakewarehouse.com for rotors and pads.

well if you were keeping the car, id tell you to go all out but if all you need is pads, and your trading soon, get the pads.

Axxis Ultimate Pads and the E46 Euro Floating Rotors > All :)

If you still plan on selling the car, though, don't waste the cash and just get cheap crap.

I went with the ones that I posted above. $85 shipped for front and rear. I am wondering if I will really need new sensors and rotors.

You will need new sensors for the pads and a trip to the stealer to have the indicator light reset.

You may want to have the brake rotors' thickness measured. You don't want them to crack on you...

I am planing on trading the car in so I am trying to put as little into it as possible.

Just get the sensor and the pads. The sensors are cheap Dave...be a baller!

i dunno about all e36's or e46's but atleast on my car you can use a paperclip to reset the lights. just stick it into these 2 holes and create a short and bam off they go

Axxis sucks...least I think so, noise, dust and fade.

Hawks are good.

Porterfield R4S is the best IMO.

Interesting... They're some of the best brake pads I've ever used.. MUCH less dust than stock.. have NEVER had any fade.. I will admit they are VERY noisy (squeel like a little bitch), but that doesn't bother me TOO much considering how good they stop. Are you sure you used Axxis Ultimates? They have some budget ones that suck, too.

Hawks are awesome, as well, however. :thumbu:
