Ok, well I know this is far in advance so set your callenders, I am going to be coming down to Miami from the 8th to the 13th and want to set something up that weekend. With mine and David A's help we are going to set up a meet/cruise/film/dinner and pictures event for as many Euro in the area as possible. I would like to do something in the late afternoon into the night. We will be filming as much as possible for our next DVD so the more the better. David has already agreed to do some drift-age on film and I think it would be a good opportunity for as many guys in the area to get involved in something...

So, in other words...SLIDE IT OR SET IT ON FIRE!

After much though and preparation, we've put together a nice little meet and tour through the streets of Miami and want to get as many of you in the next DVD as possible. We are going to be having dinner later on and doing lots of filming and photography at the park and throughout the whole night.

We are having people from all over the state come in for this one - Tampa, Orlando and Ft. Myers - north, east, south and west...everyone and anyone is invited!


When:
March 11th, 2007
Be at the park around 3:30 - 4:00pm.
We'll wait for everyone to arrive, take pictures, get some video, hang out for a little while and chat.
At 5:30 sharp we will be LEAVING the park to go on a drive/cruise and head towards the beach/restaraunt.
Around 6:30-7 we will be arriving at the restaraunt.

Bsaint is hitting up FLA and is coming ready to show those northeastern guys what the south has to offer...where else better than to do it in the hot city of Miami! So, be a part of the next Ready Fuels DVD and get ready to have one crazy/awesome meet!

We are still sourcing a restaraunt to eat at but have narrowed it down to a few of the regular ones...Chili's, Fridays, Hooters...if you have any input or have any suggestions on a restaraunt within 20 minutes of Tamiami Regional Park, please feel free to throw us some ideas. However, we will have a place before the middle of February and we will have reservations - no worries! :D

Also, we are still piecing together the drive itself and would love some input. By the middle of February we will have a concrete route planned and when you arrive at the meet we'll have some flyers that will outline our drive, where and when we are going to be at each location, the cell phone numbers of the organizers and the addresses/numbers of the restaraunts so that in the unfortunate case of someone getting lost - you'll be able to find your way back no problem. :)

Also David lets try to get our reservations soon, lets say for about 40 people. Usually we only have about 50-60% of the people who make it to most meets are at dinner anyways. And also lets make sure where ever we go serves Guinness and I'm happy :)

No problem, It is a Large Meet where we can take pictures, video chat and maybe pick up copies of "Ready Fuels: ;)

Then a small cruise to a planned meeting spot for some drifting and competitive slidding. Then once we have worn out our tires and wasted our tapes we will be on our way to eat and grab some beers :cheers: , of course you are able to leave at anytime you wish.

so in other words, i'll be driving down to Miami, approx. 3.5 hour drive from orlando, meeting up at 3:30, hang out for a while, drift at some point, then at 5:30 go on a cruise to the beach/restaraunt, and head out from there at my time.

Sounds alright, although Im just still a little unclear about how the drifting part will work out. ... I mean basically we will be meeting up, and who ever wants to participate in the drifting/tire burning basically has to just go for it- where ever/when ever they want? Will it be in the space shown in the arial pictures in the first post?...or is that just for parking for the meet..

the reason i ask is because im mainly interested in the drifting part. I want to know wether it will be worth it to bring an extra pair of tires for the rear and if I'll have time and space to change them out (and back) or not. Or if i'll only have a couple minutes to pull a couple crappy donuts in a confined area with a bunch of people and nice cars sitting there waiting to be hit. I trust that it would be more organized than that, I just want to know exactly how its going to work out, so i can plan.

If those who want to drift/burn rubber are going to a seperate/safe location where we can tear it up for a while then I'm all in for it. ;) But also if the place is riddled with cops or can put anyone in danger then count me out!

I am relatively new to Filming, but I am really quite handy with a still camera.
Well I pretty much started this whole event, but David has been kind enough to lend his services in helping to make it even better. We usually set up meets or track events and will document them in either film form or video form and if it goes well use the footage in our next dvd. I could use as much camera help as possible, but my photographers are not coming down so I could use more help taking pictures. If you would like to help film that would be appreciated and I could offer you some recognition and some sort of compensation for the tape you shot with. I will be filming with my DVX in 16:9 also in 24fps, just a heads up if you decide to film a bit.

I lived in F.I.U. campus (which is literally next to the fair grounds you guys are meeting up in) for over 3 years and in that short time I've had many bad experiences with cops and friends of mine that didn't get a break.

A bunch of modified cars met up sometime in 2003 showing off, racing, burnouts, you name it. Then guess who shows up :50: . Anyone who was caught racing got their license suspended plus a 800 fine and even those that were NOT racing, but spectating were fined 500 bucks. Thank God I wasn't there, but after that, I didn't see or hear of any major big meets for a long time.

just curious...how did your list of accepted cars come to be so specific? it's obviously not a German meet since you're allowing Italians, Supras, and Lexus's. it's obviously not an exotics meet b/c, well, 90% of the cars there will not be exotic (i'd be surprised if Ferrari's even make up the remaining 10%). it seems to me that this meet is just a very selective enthusiast meet...why did you choose to do it this way?


i don't know, it just seems funny to me that ALL German makes are welcome, but NSX's and the like are not welcome (i obviously mean no offense to VW owners, but i'm sure you all get my point).

i didn't mean the drift event specifically...

i meant the "miami" meet. some of the people at the FG BBQ this past weekend were the same people i went to miami with last year for a big meet that was pretty much exclusively Audi/Vdub (no, there was obviously no drift event at that meet :lol: ). anyways, some of those same people asked me if i was going to the miami meet again this year. i asked when it was, and i was told March 11. so i assumed that this was the same meet, only with a different venue, different entertainment, and more cars this year :dunno: .

Also 94J2A80, The meet in Miami you went to was the SWFL BBQ. Which started on the VW Vortex, hecne why it all VW's and Audi's. It had grown over the years but I remember going to one of the first small ones. Was a good meet but is infested by MK4's.

I was able to make it for about 15 minutes after I figured out that this was going to go well especially since I had to be back to be able to go back to work the next day.
