Miami Roadtrip *Brainstorm Thread*

I'm really wanting to put together a roadtrip/rally that hopefully starts in Orlando, or farther... and makes a stop in Tampa, Sarasota, Ft. Myers, and then goes to Miami for the day.

The way home, everyone can crash at my place in Ft. Myers. I have plenty of space and its just me there. Maybe just get a Keg or something to have at my place after, not sure but I'm looking for ideas and input. Need to hear from ya'll in Miami for ideas on where to eat and what do to. Thinking closer to spring break time.

lol, there are tons of places depends on what you want to do, but on a sid enote, for anyone else interested im heading to RNT Paintball this weekened in opalaca, on saturday to be precise. Im going with my girl and a couple of friends, if anyone wants to go let me know we had a good time last week. so let me know or pm me if interested .

When a date has been set, I'll look into it. I went to FIU so I still got people I could crash with (low budget), but I'd roll down with you guys. Speaking from experience that I-75 is infested with bugs and you will NOT make it to Miami with a clean bumper, especially through alligator alley. There are many cops too. I've been pulled over for going 80.

I've made that trip too many times; maybe we could do a pit stop in Naples before heading through the boring part of I-75 (1.5 hrs worth) for some R&R and a game or two of billiards.

I'm down for a weekend trip. My spring break in different than everyone else's, so I'm sure if it's during your break, I'll be back in school. Anyway, I think it would be a lot of fun. We just need to plan this now and not when we get there.

To be honest, I'm more into the cruising deal rather than speeding thru the state. I like putting car shows out on the road so people pass and drool over all the beautiful German cars. That's just me though, some just have lead feet, i guess :drive: .

I need a feeler for a date... I think feb 17th is too soon I wanna get this well organized and have big showing. I am thinking the first or second week of March, how does everyone feel about that? Lemmie know and I'll get some hotel prices. I am still not sure where to eat, need some help from local Miami people on a good spot on or near south beach thatll cater possibly 20-40+ people? Preferably a buffet style place. I can call them then and start setting up and post the official thread for it.

I'm just curious, for those that are going on this trip, who has an annual pass to Busch Gardens or doesn't have one, but would still like to go to B.G.?


Just a thought: Saturday morning we could go to B.G. 'til maybe 6 ish, then we head down to M5Beast's crib for Saturday night. Then Sunday afternoon, we could head to MOROSO (Palm Beach Gardens), :drive: for those who would want to get a 1/4 mile time then head to Orlando for a big meet... haha... big meet (P. Griffin) . I'm just throwing out some ideas, so we could do things on the way to the cities rather than just driving. It may be wishful thinking, but it's doable. From this we could go from Orlando to Tampa to Naples to Ft. Myers back to Orlando. Orlando crew would meet with the Tampa crew and head out. It would be a tour around southern FL. Tour 'd Sur Florida... I don't know if that's right, i just made it up. :dunno: :D

I am way too lazy to read this whole thread, so does anyone want to post the cliff notes? I am just wondering what the plan is for Miami, meaning what ideas do you have Ryan for entertainment in Miami? Most of the people on FG are under 21, so I don't think a club would be an option. Just wondering what are the plans, and how many people are going to flake? Last time Tim and Jeff Brown went through all the trouble to plan a rally deal to Miami and everyone flaked right before the weekend it was planned to take place. I am not trying to be a dick, but I am not going to reserve two rooms in Miami if no one is going to go.

heey guys. sorry i didn't catch this thread sooner. I live down here in Miami. I'm trying to think of a good place for everyone to stay, eat, party, etc... South Beach is probably the best place as far as entertainment and things to see. The only problem i see is parking for everyone's car. I guess it could work, but there needs to be a plan. Maybe Coconut Grove one night would be good to party, its more of a college crowd.

YoDisMatt: the place w/ the animal print outfits is called Mango's. Its right on Ocean Dr.

I'm gonna brainstorm and figure something out...

I grew up in Miami and I pretty much know all of S. Fla. Figure out an age group and I can give a few places to go. If the majority is under 21 then the ideas are somewhat limited. There's a lot of great and inexpensive places to eat at in Miami. I know of a place to park if going to S.Beach for the day or evening if people don't mind a short walk. Throwing out some ideas for things to do: Dave & Busters in Hollywood, Billiards @ Sterlings on South Beach, Promenade on Ocean Drive (21+) for kicks & giggles, the Beach is always another option (especially for those with a cam), Bayside in Downtown Miami, Hard Rock Cafe in Bayside (they have billiards too), etc. For those who would like to go shooting there's Outdoor World. Hey just ask, you never you what you're going to get.

A great nudie bar is GOLDRUSH, it's down the street from Club Space in downtown Miami; also SOLID GOLD in N. Miami Beach is good too. LOL. Another idea would be go-carts and gaming @ Boomers in Hollywood, it's about 10 minutes away from Dave & Busters, hey a good movie theatre would be a suggestion or the IMAX in S.Miami. There's still a few places, I just have to remember.
