i like it....sounds pretty sweet, but i would have to hear it in person to tell if i like it alot!
whats ur input on it? how do u like it, and compare it to the others?
Jeff, that's exactly what I said on BB.. I don't have speakers on the computer I'm using right now.. But I wanna hear Joe's opinion on it...

Well, it's as light if not lighter than the SS race. It sounds like a mix between the Dixis exhaust and the SS Race. Which is to say that it doesn't sound different than every exhaust i've heard on these cars. Major difference is that i've got about 8 hours of fabrication time, $80 in pipes, $96 in muffler, and from what i can tell a set of tips would cost about $60. So, if you've got an E46 M3 and a $1300 exhaust is not in your budget, this one for about $250 is a steal. Also, as i drove it around a little today, i noticed that it started to sound better (deeper) the more i drove it. Not bad, but not what i was expecting. I am how ever convinced that there is no way to make this M3 sound like an E36 M3. Which was what i was trying to do.

well it was worth a shot.....
so now what? keeping this one? or going back to stock? or back to one of the others?
or keep tring? there arnt many options left i would assume....
I remember hearing something about Mistercraft (pardon my spelling I've been drinking Mount gay rum and o.j., the weather in Boston is killing me so I'm imaging myself drinking on the beach.)
I wanna hear that exhaust in action, and see it in person. Titanium tips, wow...

Well, that guy with the Esi Ti muffler will still let me test his muffler out on my set up. So i guess i'll try that. If that doesn't sound better i'll just keep the SS race.
Kinda over it, and since i dropped a wad on some new camera stuff i'm not motivated to throw any more money at the situation.
In my opinion I liked what I heard from that one day with the SS, if it's not your choice than that's fine, but I honestly liked it from what I heard..
Go with the Titatinum setup and see how that is.. The worst that happens is you don't like it and you go back to what you had before..
Either way, you'll buy even more mod's because after you get the 30D plus the lens and equipment, you'll be like "Crap! My photography is at its best, I just need more mod's!"

Joe, your a leader to all of us. The things you've done have inspired all of us. You can't quit now... :D
And come on, I gave you a picture that you considered signature worthy, you can't fail me now..
EDIT: I'm just gonna steal all of your equipment. I hope you realize with the stuff you have, you have both Jack and myself out done. And that isn't easy...

What was it i said before?? It was some type of analogy.... Ah yes, give someone who can't drive an M3 and you have a crappy driver with a cool car.
I'm a long way away from "out doing" either of you.
Honestly, You've got a great eye for photography. Your shots were great, but your equipment seemed to be failing you, once you have your stuff in, you'll be wanting to take shots every few minutes for the first few weeks..
I just wish I was there to help you and join in on the fun.
Once I get back to Tampa, we need to have a large meet with RPM(Jack), David, You, and myself. Four decent photographers..
That'll be quite the meet :)

i think its the engine. this exhaust osunds better than the other clips i heard but i think what it probably needs for that kind of low rumble is more torque. im just guessing that is probably what would do it. dont ask me how to get the torque, i dont know hwat you can do to those motors

Joe, by meet, Nick means kill you, throw you in the river we are taking pictures of, and stealing your car and camera equipment, just a heads up. ;)
I know of another guy who would probably join us on a Photoshoot, his name is Frank G. he was on Bay Bimmers I think he was the guy with the turbo 4 door E36. He has a 30D and a very nice selection of lenses, his pictures are very excellent.

And yes, that's they way to get the low rumble you're talking about. Usually 8 coffee can sized pistons will do the trick. But that's not what i'm looking for. I love the sound of a straight six. Probably better than most other exhaust notes. My theory (and by theory i mean that this is the reason) is that the piston speed (how quickly and closely to one another they fire) is much faster than that of the E36 engine. And the other reason that the exhaust sounds different is because of the VANOS on the intake side of the engine. The E36 only has it on the exhaust side of the engine. And because it's variable, there are times where it sounds very much like the E36 and other times where it sounds very much like a (v-tech) honda.
That's my story and i'm sticking to it. :thumbu:

So will need to Splurge to hear Milltek in person....
Dave, from what I've read on M3Forum.net most people don't like and/or aren't satisifed with the Milltek. From what the consenus (spelling?) is, it's either full SS Race, or Eisenmann/Mis(f)tercraft (once again spelling, damn you Mount Gay Rum!!!)
BTW- your have to come down for the ralley. If I have to act like your great grand mother and say your great grand father passed away, I'll do it. Man up goddammit.

Well I have never seen that movie.
As far as the exhaust, only select few that like it are the ones that have it. Makes since to me. "Mr. 3" has sent me some clips and I think it sounds awesome. Search some threads by him and not really any negative remarks that I remember. He is the only that I can think that have it though :dunno:
Never seen that movie? It's based on your true life...
As for the exhaust, give Milltek a try if you want to.. But like you just said the ones that have it, like it. Not many people have it. There must be a reason for that. Nobody likes it I guess, Price/waiting list etc..

I just got the RE cause its easier to just switch it out. Either way, i bet we could get the thing all finished up to where it would look hot on your car. Go back and forth to the SS Race soundclip the flowmaster soundclip. There isn't much of a difference. Except for less of this ....:wallet:

Yeah, I am not expecting any performance gains from an exhaust. When I am ready for section 1, 2 and headers then I don't want disappointment but I need something different than the stock bee sound.

:thumbu: You still using your setup?Yeah, still got the RE rasp, SS X pipe, and SS race. I'm going on vacation this week and won't be back until the 6th, so i didn't start anything else.... except for the camera stuff which puts a halt to any car stuff. After i get back, i'm going to give the flowmaster to a friend of mine who is a professinoal fabricator and see if he'll go over it and finish it up all nice like. Then i'm going to have it jet-hot coated so that the tips look like Dinan tips, all black. And thats when you're going to buy it. hehe :thumbu:
