OK may be over everyones' heads, But I'll give it a try- decryption on a control module (I don't know the encryption just yet) throught the OBDII port.... Anyone have any experience with decryption?

I think you would have more luck with that question on vwfixx, vwvortex, or tampaveedubs.... good luck

the car is a 07 gti , trying to dissable the torque limiter on the tranny

Wow... Interesting... Well, in all likelihood, the ability to decrypt the ECU is going to be beyond most everyone. A few of the specialist VW/Audi guys can, of course, do it, because they've spent thousands of man hours reverse engineering the code.

+1 on trying VWFixx or Vortex, but you're probably going to end up living w/ it until someone figures out the code to disable it and offers a simple retune.

one person has figured it out and thats HPA/HGP . nobody else is looking into it really .. which is where jud sees the opportunity to capitalize on it and is kinda hoping that there is a computer engineer in here ?

so what does this do once its done exactly?

he explained it to me before but i forgot, i guess just lets you run a lot more torque so the ecu doesnt cut it off before you hit the peak, built in so you dont mess something up

well the DSG tranny in the dubs , they have this ghey torque limiter . i guess once it figures that the motor is making 250 ft pounds of torque it automatically starts closing the throttlebody and dropping fuel . kinda ghey .. part of the reason i dont really care for new cars with all of their drive by wire bullcrap .

but anyways it would basically alow you to actually make horsepower in the automatic .. uhhh i mean dsg trannied cars . as of now you cant get over 250 ft pounds of tq with them cause of the computer . and im guessing thats only at the flywheel . on the other hand the manual cars are making over 300wtq with just a chip ... dsg wayyyy lower

I remember reading about people trying to get LC in the DSG, they had to switch out the control module for the transmission.. Or something, I didn't do much reading into it..
Here's a link to VWvortex to that thread Click (http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2880962&page=1)

I doubt if this is any help, but I thought I'd try just incase this can help you to solve your problem.

Allright, It's been awhile, so its time for an update. hopefully this thread gets some views, I need your opinions!

I have come to the understanding that the actual engine torque can be altered so that the trans ecu will still see 258, but the actual will be higher. As for right now, the trans ecu software is back burner. I will have to obtain the mechatronics unit, debug it, and go from there.

Now, on to bosch ME9-I have came so far as to actually obtaining factory maps, viewing them, and editing them as well. Although, hexidecimal format isn't the easiest to understand(well, I don't understand it at all!). I have though been able to read the pure text. It's kinda cool, because the engineers name and date are in the file, yada yada. The values are confusing as hell!

So once I understand how to read and understand hex, and a Drewtech flash tool (like 300$), I'll have it under control.

Does anyone know about hex editting? Its worth a shot..... thanks in advance.
