wow, when did this happen???

you should get a cryo'd gearset for the new tranny, they hold up *alot* better than stock gears in high horsepower cars.

Call Thomas at Cars & Concepts, 813-348-6183. I think they have one lying around.

Jeff, either a M3 or a 328 tranny would work; they're both the same. The 318 and the 325 got the weaker Getrag Tranny, whereas the 328 and M3 got the stronger ZF.

well im looking.....So far the cheapest one i have found was 600 from Cars and concepts.

any1 know if i need a different drive shaft and shifter if i put the m3 tranny in my 325?

600 seems like a good price on a tranny... the tranny id put in my car next is 6 grand lolz.

Id suggest making sure the tranny is sound and everything. Thomas should be able to tell you what all you need to make it work though

If ur desperate for money, I'd pay you to fix the squeeky brakes on bojangles, unless you know anything about exhaust and pipes :shifty:

Jeff, I just researched it for you, and in addition to the transmission, you'll need a 328 or M3 guibo, driveshaft, and shift linkage.

Rebuild then?

Jeff's transmission is inherently weak, so it'd just break again.

But money is an issue right now. Also they guy before had it running fine. He just needs to keep the car at 12lbs from now on.

give my aunt's junkyard a call:

Martinito Motors
(305)633-9850 or
(305)751-4741

they love to sell main compenents like engines and transmissions so I'm sure they'd have something you can use. Be sure to ask for Sharon and tell her that Elliott recomended them to you.

Jeff, I looked at the one C&C had, looks brand new. Not sure about the inside though.

LDadrenaline

dont do dave's idea and cheap out, because it will just break again. Go for all or nothing. Paying for a used 5 speed that will break in a year then replacing it with a 6 speed is pretty stupid when you just need to save up money for a 6 speed. Ask your dad for a loan on money so you can get it installed in the car and get the car running again. The 6 speed will be much more reliable and that's one less thing you have to worry about.

Actually LD, Dave said rebuild the current one. Jeff can get another 5-speed and it will hold up fine, it just needs to be a ZF; he doesn't need the 6-speed ZF.
