good to know there are people here who use their BMW's for their performance :)

Which Chin event are you signed up for? November @ Sebring?

I don't plan on doing anything but DE events at Sebring for a while...plenty I can learn on my own without shelling out $3000-$5000 or however much it costs for a school.

That's pretty cool. What do you have to do to renew your licenses?

The Chin event in October is sold out. Your next chance is November. If you want to go I suggest you sign up soon as they sell out pretty quick.

What group would you run in Novice, Solo or Advanced Solo??

Have you been to Sebring before?

Best,

Jordan

Since Chin is full you could try the PBOC Sebring event that is later in October.

I was debating signing up for that, which would put me at Sebring twice in October...but this **** isnt cheap, for now I'm going to try and keep it to once a month until I work my way into some more $$... I do have a good plan for that though :)

I just signed up to do Sebring with Chin again on Saturday, November 11th. http://www.chinmotorsports.com/events/descriptions/choose.asp?listid=20

If you are considering going, I'd suggest signing up *NOW*.

There are already 20 novice registrations, and I believe it was just put up on their site this past week.

The total novice registrations for the next October event is 26, so November could maxed out very soon.

The PBOC is cool very good group but you don't get nearly as much track time.

The best bang for the buck is Chin hands down.

I will sign up for November as well and I am thinking about New Years too.

I've heard good things - it's supposed to be a happy medium between some of the cheaper schools and some of the extremely high end schools (Panoz/Bondurant). It was explained to me that the Garrett (I'm taking him with me) and I are going to costs $90k and some change...;)I've been told it's exclusive to only E60/E63 ///M car owners so it isn't exactly something you just buy...unless you buy one of those cars...:germanflag:

I'm pretty sure you can do basically the same thing, though, for about 3-4k...

It's a great package - they take care of all the hotel accomidations, the transportation (if you fly in) and lots of other cool stuff (lots of little BMW stuff for free, too).

Well, compared to the Panoz school, a lot of things are lame. ;)

Yeah, I'm taking Garrett M with me and he and I are going to take lots and lots of pictures...I have a feeling we're going to crash Imageshack's server from the mass uploading which will be taking place...

actually sean, I did the 3 day advanced driving school at Panoz, skip barber once it was lame, and a lapping day at Panoz for fun. We are going to Sebring to renew licenses bc they expire every two years if you don't compete. Chin said call a couple weeks before we want to go and they can fit us in they didn't say anything about being sold out, so i probably need to check into that. Then after Chin my dad wants me to compete at Road Atlanta which is a fun track. Hopefully the track car passes inspection tomorrow.....

there are only 3 M driving schools offered. The M school which is $3,650, Advanced M School - Lowes Motor Speedway $4,650, and Advanced M School - Virginia International Raceway $3,950.... There is no $90k bmw driving school offered this is what all three schools told me and BMWusa sent me. It isnt exclusive either you dont even need to own an M5 or a car in general for the advanced m school asks you to call them to see if your driving capabilities. The accomodations are catered meals and a few gifts (probably a hat and a bag of coupons). Unless you are going to a school in Europe which BMW doesnt list.

No, the school that I am doing is exclusive to E60/E63 owners...this I am sure of. The $90k was a playful joke...you're talking about the 3 schools that they offer on their website...I'm very familiar with those.

Like I said, though...this is different...

Here's a brochure for what I am talking about - it's not all of the info for the actual program but it's just the general promo...

M Driving Experience
The M Driving Experience, which is held at the BMW Performance Center in Spartanburg,
SC, is a rewarding program for original owners of new 2006/07 M5’s and M6’s, which is
included with the purchase or lease of these cars. It has been specially designed to
enhance the experience of owning and driving your magnificent vehicle.
Located near the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, the BMW Performance Center is unique
in the automotive world. Here, on a special driving course that simulates over 35 driving
conditions, you’ll receive professional instruction behind the wheel of a collection of
BMW M Cars.1
Upon your arrival at Greenville-Spartanburg Airport, call the Greenville Marriott and a driver
will be immediately sent for you. Be sure to arrive in time to check in and attend the 6 pm
cocktail hour. This will be followed by dinner and your first class on Driving Dynamics.
You’ll then have the opportunity to relax before the excitement begins the next morning.

i was just making sure that you werent getting ripped off. if you want to be a dick about it you can go **** yourself. It's funny because if it is exclusive to new M5 owners how come when my father called BMW the only driving experience (where you bring your own car) they told him the driving experience is basically a track you drive on and you don't exceed 80mph and you tour the BMW facility and eat a catered meal which is lame if you ask me if this is the one you are talking about, ok. If it not than i guess their is some special one you speak of that is so exclusive and my family is just too poor to attend:roll: btw puffy daddy rubs . my dad's feet.... I am not fully doubting you, but it is just funny and i find it unlikely that BMW wouldn't have told us of this highly "exclusive" driving program when we called, and by the way you may not appreciate it that i called you a dick, but i dont care because im rich bitch

I dont know, my dad said that he talked to the president of Chin and the guy told him that he is sending us some info and he will get us in. i guess a guy my dad knows is friends with the president of chin. I dont know if it will happen or not, that's just what the guy said...... I am still debating if i want to go, i found out today a thousand things i need to fix on the car from the scca rule book. so i guess we will see.

you dont want a 2 piece racing suit. Most series dont allow them, so its not really worth it to have one

and david a just fyi, i think they send it when you preorder a car that hasnt come out yet. My 17 year old friend did it with his dad. they got the thing about it in the mail after ordering their new 6 series (non m)

and you can get into chin events mostly if you know an instructor. Like my dad could get me in by saying that he'd instruct if they let me in

I checked the scca rule book and they allow the 2 piece racing suit atleast that's what the instructor told me today but he could be wrong... the only reason i want a 2 piece is because i hate feeling trapped in the one piece. where did you hear that you can't have a 2 piece because i would like to check it out so i dont get the wrong thing. I also need the gloves, helmet (bc we got owned on the one we bought), socks, and the sock that goes under helmets (bc i have long hair). Does anyone know where they would sell these items in tampa, bradenton, or sarasota?
