View Full Version : Chin Motorsports Sunday Oct. 8th - 3 slots left
I know not many people here are really into tracking all that much, but here goes:
http://www.chinmotorsports.com/participants/list.asp?eid=168
Chin Motorsports Sebring event for October 7th.
Even if you dont go to run the track, it would probably be fun to show up anyway. Last time there was a 350z club out there visiting, you can even join in the parade laps so you can say you've been around a race course ;)
Myself and some other local BMW guys are signed up to go:
Me - 2006 E46 M3 SMGII
mightyp - 2006 E63 M6 SMGIII - 500hp 200mph car
jordantii -- 1988 E30 M3 - old school ftw, he'll be lapping me all day like I was standing still

lol.... yeah he said it was "too early" even though when i asked him how waiting two years was early.... and how when he said do 10 autoXs and I did 12 is too early.... he just kinda walked away.
If I can keep my grades up though I'll be doing the Nov 11-12 event :)
What a blast! I'll have footage up soon.
If you have money burning a hole in your pocket and feel like spending it on your car, go ahead and skip on purchasing mods and go out to a Chin event :)
LD hurry up and get out, show the rest of these fools how it's done :)

I would say about 2% of the members on this site would go to the track. Most would rather buy mods for their cars, street race at Gandy or drift in some secret location. Show off's/posers.
Always seemed strange to me that people will modify their cars for more power and not really know how to drive them.....Sad if you ask me.
Anywhoo, The weekend was a blast, car was glued down, no issues except for changing brake pads. I guess I go in too deep.......

Perhaps it would help if you piloted your German machine more like a car and less like this:

You might be right. I just finished up loading all my video. Now I have to edit.
This was my second time out at a track, the most "high performance" driving I have otherwise done was two autocross events.
Car is a 2006 E46 M3 with SMGII transmission.

I didn't drive a perfect line but I can usually recognize where I made mistakes and pointed them out to my instructor.
My goals for the day were to REALLY get on my brakes, which I did very well, sometimes too much and bled off more speed than I needed to or I braked too early. I'm happy with how I was running my lines, I want to tweak them a bit in turns 17 and 1 next time. I want to get my braking points down pat and also carry a little bit more speed into some of the turns...
One thing I hope to NOT do next time is win the prize again for most bugs killed.
shout outs to jordan (red e30 m3), mike (white e30 m3), greg (black e63 m6), tony (silver e46 m3 smg), howard (blue e36 m3), roberto (yellow 911 turbo), charlie (silver evo mr) and my former instructors Jack and Chris =)
