You got anything that will give a 98 merc E320 a louder sound? Nothing crazy, just a lil bit of a "throatier" sound or w/e.

asides from an exhaust you can just replace the resonators with a straight pipe. Most muffler shops can do this for $100.

does this do anything to performance, insurance rates, gas mileage or ne thing else I need to know about?

If you are just replacing resonators with a straight pipe, really all it is gonna do is change the note of the exhaust. Horsepower and torque gains or losses will be negligible, insurance companies don't care what you do to your exhaust, any changes in gas mileage will be miniscule in either direction.

Pretty much just a different sound, which seems to be exactly what you're looking for.

Where it gets trickier is if you are replacing catalytic convertors with a straight pipe, because this will usually throw a CEL in newer cars, increase vehicle emissions, possibly provide noticeable gains in HP or torque, and makes for a noticeably LOUD exhaust in most cars.
