View Full Version : Car wash/wax/detail at TheDarkSide's Residence 9-10-06
That's right folks, Dos Nombres el caro needs a little elbow grease.
Dave has kindly invited me to use his hose to wash my car. (Pun intended)
This Sunday afternoon I will be going to his crib...
I will be washing, removing some black crap, and then waxing my car. It will take approximately two hours, Dave was soft hearted enough to offer other members to show up and hang out, play footsies, or even massage certain body parts known as "Privates."
Ok, now in all seriousness, I guess I'll be heading over to his house in the late afternoon, probably around 3-4PM, if this is alright with his Majesty. Don't want to detail cars in the direct sun.. That is NO FUN!
So, let us know if you plan to attend, and whether or not you want to just hang out and shoot the ****, or if you want to maybe rub your own car a little.. :shifty:
Dave, all this sound good to you? If not, then please edit my thread to fit your standards.
Godspeed FG members, Godspeed.

Probably some nano wax.. I'm gonna swing by whatever the auto store..
Either pick up that Nano stuff, or get some mequiars..
That, and have any suggestions for removing tar type material on the paint?
It'll probably go till 6 I'm guessing.. :dunno:

man you still gotta finish all the stupid little things! or just rampage and do donuts..the viper looking car is really fun in the grass! lets you do big wild donuts like cu-de-sac in trinity style...hehe...
roy id definatly say get the meguiars over the nano or anything else they have there lol. and mineral spirits or something like that to take the tar off, it will seriously be completely gone in like 1 or 2 wipes...saves your arms...ive never used a bug and tar remover than actually could remove that kinda stuff...

Eagle One Nano Wax... That was the stuff I was posting about.. If you don't think it's good, then super, I'll get something else. You the expert.
As for the mineral spirits.. What do you mean? Like wash my car with bottled water in the bucket, and to wash the car off?? Please elaborate..
And just in case, is there any type of product you recommend to get the tough stuff off. As we all know, some things cannot just be washed off...

no no just wash it with car soap and water like normal. then before you clay it( well you said you were going to in the other thread) just go over the tar areas with some mineral spirits on a rag. you dont have to use mineral spirits but it is the best thing for the job. trick of the trade i guess...works great to clean whitewall tires too for the old people who buy those lol. dont use it all over the car, just on the area you have to. then claybar the car and finally wax it. i'll try to finish up as early as i can, i would like to help out if i can get there on time since its pretty much on the way home anyways...

I don't want to claybar, that's like a last resort. Hence the question of other methods possible to clean up the mess..
