im a new member and i recently got my hands on a 1998 A4 2.8 quattro, and im wondering if anyone has any quick modding ideas. thanks

honestly if your into modding, sell it and pick yourself up a 1.8T... way more potential with the factory turbo motor. way more options, and way better returns power wise.

if your hell bent on the 2.8, PES use to make a SC for it.

otherwise you are left with the usual, intake, chip, exhuast, that dont net very much HP, and then suspension.


as far as free mods I think you can have someone vag your ECU for some extra functionality.. windows up and down with remote. doors lock at some given mph, so on and so forth

You can do a custom exhaust, springs

vr6 ftw!!! you may not get crazy power out of it, but you can be very content with that motor, plus the sound it makes is to die for.i honestly say that is one of the best sounding engines of all time.

its not a vr6. its a v6
on the vr6 the intake ports are on one side and the exhaust are on the other

Welcome...since it's N/A your only option for a significant amount of power is adding some forced induction.

BTW welcome to the forum, you can get negligible power from mods on the V6's of around 15-20hp with software and exhaust. Other than that, make it look good and save up for a supercharger or turbos. Not to get you on a different site, but go on audizine.com and check out the B5 section on there. There are a few guys that are supercharged and turbo'd and they can get you going in the right direction if thats something that interests you!! Good luck and be prepared to spend lots and lots of money :D
