The car is a 1980 with six cylinder carb motor. The car is mostly complete but is not running. Needs restoration or good for parts. BBS 13" basketweaves, euro bumpers, etc. Florida title. $350.00 and buyer pays shipping. Located in Tampa.

Sounds nice. Good cosmetically?

Sounds nicer than it looks. The car has some rust in the right rear quarter. The car could be restored but it will be an ambitious project.

Remember we said we should all pitch in some money and buy a stunt car? I'm sure we can fix it up and tear it up!

for 350, what else you gonna get! thats super cheap for anything...how much do you htink it would cost to get running?
i...could potentially be interested, pending pictures of inside and outside and motor in its current state. and a list of known issues would be great. ill see if its worth it to me.

I don't have any pics, but the car is located at Cars & Concepts, 4711 N. Manhattan, Tampa. Just ask Steve or Thomas and they will show you the car.

Thomas is on here. Maybe he will chime in soon.

Scott mentioned this allready that this car needs a lot of work, but it is doable. I think it is worth $ 350.00 even if you can't get it running you could part it out and get your money back.

Thomas

PS you could buy that 97 M3 engine and install it in the 320i :) :) ( just kidding )

oh boy i dunno....it could look hot balla, i see the great potential but i dont know if im willing to part with my money to restore it...how much would you estimate it would cost to get it drivable( engine runs, tranny works, wheels and brakes are going, but it looks like death still and probably smells like racoon urine and rat turds;) )

and how hard are parts to find for this?

I've never seen one with a top like that.. Is that from the factory like that? If you want, I could post it on a few other sites that might be interested... let me know..

The car is actually pretty rare. "A cabriolet conversion was offered by Karosserie Baur (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karosserie_Baur) GmbH, based on regular E21 models. The cabriolet conversion was composed of a targa (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Targa) roof and an independent rear soft top. Production of the Baur TopCabriolet began in 1978, and were sold via the BMW dealership network. All TopCabriolets included the BMW warranty. A total of 4,595 vehicles were manufactured before production ended in 1981" I don't know how many are in the USA since they were not originally sold here, but I would guess less that 100 were imported.

Interestingly, all the body parts can be sourced from a regular 320i, therefore cheap. The good thing about this car is that it has the six cylinder engine and that any of the M50, S50/52/54 engines can be installed, if someone desires. All the hard to find parts are on the car. It was running when I bought it a couple of years ago. I am not going to lie it is going to require some work to bring it back, but it is doable and worth it for such a car. I think the car is fairly priced since the euro bumpers and BBS wheels are worth more than what I am asking for it.

I talked with Charlie on Saturday and met him at the Driver's Ed school in Brooksville on Sunday. He is going to be by the shop on Saturday to pick the car up. I gave the title to Steve since I am going to be out of town this weekend.
