LDadrenaline

i thought they only made E46 vert Ms.... didnt know they had em in the E36

besides that, just the fact that he says its a 6 speed manual then says its an SMG.... well, also the 15k pricetag. Something must be wrong with it

kelso
08-30-2006, 09:36 PM
it is an e46 vert m3...??? and smg is a 6 spd. it says 6 speed sequential manual or something in the ad. its a definate scam. i almost got a scam like this on an e30 m3 for 4 grand in good condition...it was worth 10 to 12 atleast. my friend almost bought a 40 thousand dollar supra for like 7 grand.... these scammers will **** you in the ass, take your money, and run for the hills. you wont find them.

it has 9 records found on the vehicle....anyone with car fax to find out what these records would be? I say one of us goes and checks out this car and takes it to BMW for a check up. See whats wrong with it.

kelso
08-30-2006, 09:45 PM
my guess is registrations every year. wouldnt worry about it. usually theres people on bf.c who will run a carfax though
just post a thread in the for sale section asking for a vin check. list the vin and they usually email or pm you.

its in largo so if it is a scam its not hard to find out.if i was interested i would go and test drive it and run the numbers on it dont automatically assume its a scam cause of the price.now if it was an out of state deal and he wanted a deposit first than i would say its a scam but locally its very hard to scam somebody with a little smarts

LDadrenaline
08-30-2006, 09:55 PM
well 15 grand for that and he will assume shipping costs.... it really sounds like a scam or a complete retard

kelso
08-30-2006, 10:01 PM
heres how it works..atleast witht he scammer i dealt with.... i sent him an email interested in the goldmine e30 m3. he responded with an email who he sent to many people i found out. it was near daytona and i wanted ot go look at it. he wanted me to send a deposit first. i refused. he said he was in new york and the car was here in FL. but i couldnt look at it in person until id sent him some money or i could buy it for 4 grand, have it shipped over and if i dont like it return within one week. my friend with the supra deal had the same situation. except his seller was in germany and selling his car because he couldnt import it with him when he moved or some ****... it was total bs, there was no car to begin with. i saw the exact same e30 being sold on ebay in texas, same pictures, similar description but with a phone #. i called it and it was someone else, the scammer jacked his description and posted it. i was so mad cause he almost got me for 4 grand...

LDadrenaline

thats why i hate buying stuff online. It is actually one of the reasons I went to the stealer to buy a new car....

kelso

08-30-2006, 10:15 PM
yea i geuss this is a scam..this is what happened to me the other day:
somone called my dad saying they wanted to buy my prosche . he then called backa and said he would send us a check for 2000$. we told him alright but were kind of suspicious. the guy lived in canada and had never seen the car. so three days later we get a enveople adn inside is a cashiers check from arizona for $4500! We knew itt was conterfit but called the guy anways to mess with him. He said that he accidently sent to much adn wanted us to send him 2500$ back. We had this scam before so we knew better than to send the money so we called the fbi. Fbi wouldnt do adnythning though.

LDadrenaline
08-30-2006, 10:17 PM
fckin fbi.... these are the kind of people that need to be shut down. Try to see what bank he used when he made the forgery and contact that bank

LDadrenaline
08-31-2006, 10:14 PM

LDadrenaline
08-31-2006, 10:27 PM
yeah isn't the E36 much lighter than the E46??

kelso
08-31-2006, 10:30 PM
i guess but the e46 handles really good... i dunno i dont do much research on bmw's honestly

LDadrenaline
08-31-2006, 10:32 PM
lol same here... only thing ive been told is that the E36 has less power than the E46, but weighs less and isnt as big

AwesomeBMW

ya but it feels like it has like 285 stock

LDadrenaline
09-01-2006, 03:04 PM
240-285 is like a 45 hp difference....... in that case, my car feels like it has 275 hp stock lolz

240-285 is like a 45 hp difference....... in that case, my car feels like it has 275 hp stock lolz
 im just trying to say yes they only have 240 but the suprising abilities it has to produce a 5.6s 0-60 and do great on the track you would think it has about 285hp bc it is such a fast car...

TheDarkSide
09-01-2006, 06:07 PM
I will agree, it feels faster but that is the illusion of torque. My s2000 had 240 stock too :dunno: well that felt hella fast too though.

kelso
09-01-2006, 06:11 PM
but those cars are lighter as well so the power/weight ratio makes it feel pretty good.

Dang...I was going to say "Its an SMG, thats whats wrong with it"

I hate SMGs. Its not a real manual unless theres a clutch pedal IMO..

kelso
09-01-2006, 10:55 PM
as i do prefer a true manual, i dont hate the smg that much... if it didnt have an auto option id like it more, but the option of full auto annoys me a tad

SlickShift
09-02-2006, 08:27 AM
I honestly like the SMG...I still don't know if I'd take it over a manual though. Dave, I need the car again

LDadrenaline
09-02-2006, 09:24 AM
i mean, the whole concept of it is pretty good. Its probably better on the track than a manual, but I still wouldnt want it. Half the fun of driving is having a manual

Orion ZyGarian
09-02-2006, 10:11 AM
Took a ride in one yesterday after replacing the lower radiator hose on an E46 M3....(pain in the F*kin DICK!!!) and I just dont like it...its stupid and I can even shift faster than it. I'm still not impressed.

TheDarkSide
09-02-2006, 10:22 AM
 You break my heart...I have owned both, I like the SMG, I want both though :dunno: But really it takes like 2 full days of driving it to figure it out. On S6 at WOT redline shifts it claims .08 shifts which are hella fast. Realistically that only composes of 5% of your driving but the others are fast enough for me.

silver-e34
09-02-2006, 01:48 PM
yea its a scam i contacted him thru email and this is what i got - Hi there,

I am glad that you are interested in buying my car, you should know
that it's in brand new condition, has no mechanical or cosmetic problems,
was never involved in any kind of accidents, it was always garage kept
and the car has been paid in full.
I am looking to sell it right away for $15000 (shipping and title
transfer fees included). There is a reason for selling it for such a low
price but I'm not willing to discuss it in public so please don't ask. The
car is located at the yahoo shipping center, because I am at USA Naval
base in Europe and I cant close the deal in person, that's why Yahoo
will act like a third party. They will handle payment and shippment for
me.
If you decide to buy it, below I have described the transaction process
in short.

- First you have to make a down payment of $2900.
- After payment is confirmed by yahoo they will proceed with the
delivery of the car to your address.
- You will have a ten day inspection period to check that the car is in
perfect condition as described.
- Yahoo will hold the payment until the ten day inspection/acceptance
period has elapsed.
- If you decide to keep the car, you will have to send the remaining
balance and the title will be transferred to your name.
- If you decide not to purchase the car you will get a full refund and
the car will be returned on my expense.

If you agree with these terms, get back to me with your full name and
shipping address so we can start the secure transaction over yahoo.

Thanks

kelso

oh what! called that like a mofo! i hope ive saved atleast 1 person from scammers like this in the future.

and im a fast shifter, but i dont think i could shift faster than smg on speed 6, flawlessly every time. humans will **** up, it just cant be done so consistently
