one more time. wheel choice. i have had so long to htink about it i change my mind al the time, my plans are to lower the car put the m-tech stuff all around color match my mouldings and handls. so here ae the choices.
1. CSL's (Replicas probably). (would powder coat them bronze)
2. BBS LM replicas. (Bronze face, polished lip)
3. MVR's

Bronze on white is typically not a good combo. As for your wheel choices, I'm sure most of us know what CSLs and LMs look like, but how about a pic of the MVRs?
who said bronze on white on bmw is a bad idea? Hmm...I beg to differ.

Yeah, I was going to say "Bronze on white is not a good combo," but then I remembered that car, so I added the "typically"... XD

that ones not too bad but i would prefer a few other finishes before that color.
How much do these wheels weigh, or is that not important?

i think CSLs look good... not bronze tho

08-28-2006, 03:08 PM
i think weight is a non issue... gotta look good
Dut's M3 had more of a gold color to his wheels, not bronze.
I'd say real LM's, the replica's don't look as good as the real thing in my opinion..
I don't see the point in getting replica wheels. They're not as good, and that can cause lots of problems..

far cheaper, and look just as good to the untrained eye

Exactly, Cheaper...
As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. You buy a cheaper wheel, especially one noted by everyone, as a "replica" and a "cheap alternative" , might have issues. Bent wheels=not fun. Cheaper metal is used in those replicas.
Save up, buy the real thing.

real things not worth it when you just want the looks though. i totally agree you get what you pay for and the wheels arent as durable in most cases but the wheels he listed are very expensive wheels, and on a student budget:nono:

I don't think replicas are that bad, you just have to do a little research and use some common sense when you buy them. If you buy some wheels on eBay for $50 each, they're probably gunna bend. Before I bought mine, I did research and read reviews from people who've had the wheels for while and none reported any defects, ect. I decided they were worth the money.

Yeah weight is not an issue. i like MVR's but im worried the replica 18's wont look as good as the real 19's.

08-28-2006, 09:11 PM
i dont think 19 would be a wise choice. my replicas are holding up great btw
LDadrenaline
08-28-2006, 09:12 PM
yeah i fear 19s may look a bit too big on the car....

19's are too big! I would go for the bbs, in gunmetal with a polished lip. Is there a replica bbs rgr out? if so that would be my choice, great looking wheel!

Staggered diameters=goofy. I'd rock four of the fronts, though. LMs are so sweet...

of course you'd say blue with gold wheels. Every subaru has that color combination.

no my subaru doesnt have it.... and thats not the reason. My dad has had his gold fuchs on his blue paint for like 30 years. Almost any blue looks good with gold wheels (unless theyre like strait up pimpin gold wheels with spinnerz)
