Some great news to announce for future JB3 owners. We’ve come to an exclusive agreement with Bavarian Technic and will be offering their BT Basic cable as a package deal with our JB tuners. The BT Basic functions just like the Enthusiast cable, except that instead of 3 VINs you can only use a single VIN with it. Perfect for tune owners who want the most powerful and comprehensive code management and diagnostic tool available for the N54.
Among the many advantages of the BT Cable over other “jack of all trade” options:
1) You can conveniently access codes and data through the OBDII port under the steering wheel without running wires.
2) The ability to check and delete codes and perform diagnostics with your tune removed. So you know the car is clean before dropping it off.
3) The ability to view code details and freeze frame data telling you what was triggered, how often, and why.
4) The ability to read/delete codes from all 15+ Modules on the car. Yes, you can even delete those pesky stability control dyno and burn out codes that often raise suspicion with dealers. Airbag codes too.
5) High speed data logging of over 600 ECU parameters, and numerous diagnostic features. This puts the same tools and data BMW has in your hands.
6) A real product supported by a team of engineers, providing rapid email support, and the ability to stay ahead of BMW in the never ending cat and mouse detection game. http://www.n54tech.com/forums/images/smilies/drinking.gif
We’ve updated our site and dealers with the new BT Basic package options. For introductory pricing when buying a JB3 PnP the BT Basic is a $120 add on, and when buying a JB3 Pin Out or JB+ it is a $150 add on. http://www.n54tech.com/forums/images/smilies/eek.gifhttp://www.n54tech.com/forums/images/smilies/eek.gifhttp://www.n54tech.com/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif
A condition of the distribution agreement was that these would only be offered with new tuner sales and not be sold individually. So those of you already tuned looking for a BT will still need to pickup the BT Enthusiast kit from us for $287. Although a little more money, the Enthusiast cable will have a much higher resale value. http://www.n54tech.com/forums/images/smilies/wink2.gif The one exception is for those that purchased a JB3 or JB+ after 9/28/2009 directly from BMS. In that case alone we will let you pay the difference with shipping to buy the BT Basic cable retroactively. Email us on or before 10/15/2009 to take advantage of this. Unfortunately due to the unique nature of this agreement we will have to be very strict on dates. http://www.n54tech.com/forums/images/smilies/slap.gif
While the BT cable is not required with a tune, it really is a terrific tool to have. And I’m excited our volume has been able to make it that much more affordable for many of you. http://www.n54tech.com/forums/images/smilies/happyanim.gif
We expect the BT Basic cables will start shipping around 10/21/2009. http://www.n54tech.com/forums/images/smilies/popcornad4.gif
