Sounds good, but I'm already running custom xenon projectors ;) Man that was a pain in the ass to fabricate! If they look and work well though, I guarantee you those will sell like hot-cakes on Bimmerforums.

Yep, those are the ones...I have the "standard" ones. I ALMOST opted for the 8K but nah, these look awesome:boink:

The remote kit if you don't know is just so when u lock/unlock your car they turn on, instead of when u put the key to postion 2 or higher, and then they'll stay on for about 10secs after you leave the car, sometimes longer if you've been for a long drive.:thumbu:

Sean - These guys have any ACS Front Splitters? ;) If so, a group buy for those would likely make Roady & Coupe owners salivate quite a bit.

You're not the only one, haha :D They list at a little over $550 - Cheapest you can get them is from SPP at about $490...

There was a group buy on BimmerForums several years back for them at $400, and they sold probably 30 of the damn things in mere DAYS.

Mmpire in Orlando is trying to copy them in carbon fiber (at a reduced price!) but will likely take him a little time, and they aren't easily reproduced since he hand lays the fiber.

well what i was thinking was getting maybe 5 people toghter and each throwing 100$ that would cover the price of the real ones for the mold then he would take money off the replica when you buy them maybe 200$ for the replicas:eek: or the more peole that throw in the less everyone would have to spend so if you wanna post that idea on bimmerforums since i am a noob to the z3 section i dont know if they'd listen to me.. or if you know someone local in ca that whould let him borrow them for a price he could do it that way? oh nick roy pss9's 1700 beasts the hell out of the 2400 ko wants for them huh?

Where in CA? I know a few guys in SoCal who were looking to do this very thing and would likely be willing to loan their splitters for a cheap/free set for themselves.

Does the process he use destroy the splitters, or are the still useable afterwards? That was one of the downsides a lot of the guys were having trouble over - In order to make an accurate mold, the splitters end up destroyed.

1st, I'll ask around and see if I can find someone to lend him them... If not, I'll just buy them and send them out if I can get a free set ;), then sell the original used on Bimmerforums for a little bit of $$ recoup lol.

Hmm.. One guy tried to do them a while back and was predicting somewhere in the $180 range. He gave up, though, because he just didn't have time to be adding another product to his 1-man garage business.

I think they would sell like absolute HOT CAKES at anything less than $250 (half price from the originals).

How much are you looking to spend?

Unless you've got a MINIMUM of $5k to drop, you will NOT find a CF Hood that fits well (OEM).

For about $1500, you can get a TCKline (call them, (614) 771-7744)) CF Hood (11lbs), but it fits like ****. It's for racing, not for showing.

For about $1000 you can get an Erebuni (18lbs), but it *WONT* fit, will require about $500 extra money to have a body shop fit it half-assed, and is not CF (fiberglass w/ a crappy CF weave on top of it).

Edit: Oh, and forget about trunks. No one makes them. Again, $5k for one that will fit well (like OEM), since it will be custom.

Edit 2: If you're interested in the $5k hood that fits like OEM, I have a composites manufacturer who will build it, but it'll take forever and you'll have to get them a stock hood (in California). May end up being >$5k, no idea. That was a VERY rough estimate. That builds a PERFECT mold and uses top of the line manufacturing processes (such as Ferrari/etc use on their composites) that will result in a hood that looks identical to the stock hood and fits perfect. It will also make a mold for other people to purchase them in the future, but I doubt anyone will want to drop $5k.

Dude, w/ the amount of $$ I've spent on my car, you think I'd be rollin around w/ a stock hood if I had better news? :(

Hehe.. I'm very bitter that they don't make them. But think about it. The Z hood is the single largest piece of stamped steel ever produced in the United States. EVER. Creating a proper mold and vaccuum forming chamber and all that **** for that hood would be horrendous.

Yeah... I was thinking about doing a trunk in Fiberglass, actually. It's not that hard to form it yourself. The hood could not be done well, though - It's just TOO big.
