airbags wouldn't hurt so many people if this retarded agency didn't require them to partially restrain you when you arent wearing a seatbelt... after being in 1 collision involving airbag deployment, I do NOT want to repeat the experience... even with a belt on, proper driving position, in a 45 mph crash, i was momentarily knocked out by that sucker... and I sit pretty far from the wheel (6'1 tall).
re-fricking-diculous... put more restrictions on the damn SUVs to be safer to other cars.

I think if you were to crash going 252mph you'd be dead anyway. I just wanna know why it would add so much to the cost of the car. They're just f*cking airbags.

256 mph :)
and they airbags are expensive as hell to rig up... gotta have em all over the car and they have to be rigged to a blackbox or something to know how to deploy like trillionths of a second after the crash....

its expensive because they have to do a lot of testing and stuff and create the new system and then implement that into the existing car plans and maybe change the car lsightly so they gotta figure out more little stuff and waste more time and pay more people and its all just so johnny millionarie has less of a chance of death in his million dollar supercar which, i must say, is known for something other than its safety features:roll:

Yeah it is not the cost of the systems, it is how many the are required to "total" to prove it works.

Exactly. When they require let's just say, for the sake of argument, 5 cars to test.. Front, Rear, Left Side, Right Side, and a crazy barrel roll, flip, etc... That's about 10 million down the toliet..

If the government was smart (my god thats funny in itself), they would exempt this car too, and add a federal tax( small, maybe a few grand) to the final sticker, and make out with that $$$ plus that of gas guzzler, and sales X number of units sold =good revenue. I mean, that IS the way the government thinks, right?

heck yes. i mean it sucks to have to pay gay taxes like that but they can afford it.

should change the title to "gheyness could put bugatti out of business"
I don't think that a smart airbag will help you if you crash your new Veyron doing 250 mph.

i dont get how adding 10% to price of the car is going to put them out of business ? its not like any veyron owners are on a budget and cant spend an extra 100k i mean im anybody that can spend a mil or 2 on a car can spare 200 or even 300k just to be "safer" , its sounds to me like a billionaire company is bitchin cause it doesnt wanna spend money :dunno:

Well Bugatti is losing money over this car...... yes 1.3million and thats losing money, that only shows you how much engineering is going into this vehicle. But I do agree, 100k isn't too much when yourspending 1.3 mil
